Oh my, fishies o.o
I'd suggest adding bit of change in his tail between 4 and 5 stage (Small pattern in last stage maybe?) and changes in hair between stages. You can also turn his ears in first stage into more roundy, human ears.

I was thinking of changing the hair each stage but could never really think of anything.ill look at different hair styles to decide

At this current moment I have five knuffel designs sitting around waiting to be completed.. I like them all, but I don't know which one I should be finishing first. I've lost complete motivation for the Witch. Here are all the 5: "Living Crystal Doll" "Khati" "Bellai" "Amiyuki" "Dragon 'lord' " Blegh.. Need to decide what I need to work out..
