Haha!! You might teach english in other countries too? Yay!! I love meeting people that have!! :) It makes me feel less of any oddity...Which I don't mind being different but when you are surrounded by close minded people its nice to meet those who aren't or have experienced it themselves...
For me I don't hate english...I actually love it, its my favorite subject, but I hate that once you get to the higher or high school classes, any enjoyment you get from it is spoiled by writing an essay paper that basically tears the entire book apart...Enjoyment from reading is interpreting a book in your own way, and if that is analyzing the life out of it, so be it, but I don't think most people are that way...
Thats why I am going to teach kindergarten, elementary, maybe middle school. Its the good old easy english, grammar, plural type stuff, and for kindergarten, just learning words...I can do that. But I don't think I could force high school students to analyze a book that isn't even in their first language...I would feel horrible...
I like to watch the enjoyment on their faces as they feel the accomplishment of just LEARNING it...you know...?
Did I just rant something really strange...? Sorry...
Don't worry...you will get old eventually, then you will be begging to be young again...Enjoy it, every moment of high school. There is a lot I missed out on and I regret it now.
