I'm really happy that you chose this humble place of ours to hang out with us :mccute: Oh speaking of which, I just finished reading the new Naruto Gaiden: The Seventh Hokage manga. The first chapter kinda intrigues me because I thought Sasuke married Sakura at the end of Naruto Shipuuden. But there's this little girl named Sarada who resembles exactly like Karin. She was under the care of Sakura at the moment while Sasuke is away for Ninja business. I was like, "so Sasuke has a child with Karin?" o_O lols

I should start reading Naruto again... It got so complicated and I was reading one volume at a time as it came out so it was hard to remember what was going on! Now where did I get up to... :mcheh:

Yep, I agree with you. Naruto is so vast, some stuff gets more complicated as the story progresses. So if you're not a Naruto fan, it's quite hard to keep up. I'm only reading mangas online though. I don't have enough funds to buy myself a physical copy of it. If you're interested in Naruto Gaiden, you can catch it over [ here ]. I'm just waiting for Chapter 2 for like what, a week?

Hope everyone is doing well!

I finished Tsuritama a couple of days ago. I really loved the music, the plot and the art, and 3 out of the 4 main characters, but I hated how the female characters were basically ignored. ._. And not an example of that, but the final straw for me was when one of the main characters slaps his sister and she apologizes but he never does. Overall the series left a bad taste in my mouth. :/

I feel like just as a courtesy to other members who may not have read/watched a series, we should keep spoilers in the spoiler box. :mcshock:
Spoiler
spoiler here The scene with Hughes definitely was quite a huge shock, but I would hate to have ruined it for another fellow reader/watcher. :mcheh:

Naruto was okay for me, but I feel like I just stopped liking it near the end. :/

@Jessicat:
That's cool! I've always wanted to try living in Japan or Taiwan for a bit. :D (My relatives are all from Taiwan, but I have an uncle who lives in Japan)

I think I probably used the wrong term to describe her art. Personally, I love it. I just had a friend who wasn't really into it because he thought the way she drew characters was "simple." Her skill with balancing tension and comedy is exactly why I really love her stories! There's always a great balance and it lets you enjoy the series and take breaks. :3

@fielkun:
Personally, even though there was "blood," in FMA, it wasn't very explicit. I've seen "mature" mangas where they have organs and stuff hanging out of bodies. >.> That is not pretty.

I cried at the ending too because it was so great. I really loved how the Hiromu Arakawa tied up the entire series. :D

Saloiq - Is that the fishing one? I don't normally do sports manga/anime because they tend to be thin on the story side of things... Obviously it seems to be the exception there. But yeah, that sounds annoying... It's sad when a relatively minor thing can ruin an entire series for you.
I was reading the Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei novels, and the author put in such an unnecessarily homophobic statement as if it was a matter of course and I actually felt quite sick...

fielkun - Thank you for the link, but I never read things in translation ^_^. I will catch up, I have been following Naruto for such a long time in my life I feel I ought to keep up really.

Hikari - You should, if you have the opportunity! It'll be great to experience life in another country :)
I think what was mature about FMA wasn't the amount of blood... It was the horror of the situations. I still can't contemplate watching the Nina chimera episodes. That was heart-rending.

And yes, wasn't the series just... perfection? It was amazingly well tied-up. Or rather, I should say, it was so meticulously planned and balanced. Not like those sprawling shounen manga that go on forever, but something that was intricately woven and actually has an ending.

Yeah, the fishing one (although perhaps with the aliens it was fishing/sci-fi). :(

Hello Zesurin. :3

@Jessicate:
If you want to enjoy a series with great characters, but not an intricate plot, you should check out Haikyuu! It's a volleyball sports manga/anime, and even though sports manga aren't the greatest for me, I love reading the series and watching the characters grow. c:

My Japanese and Mandarin isn't good enough to live in either of those countries though. ^^; I could probably survive in Taiwan, so I'd probably improve a lot if I went there, but I feel like I'd be completely lost in Japan. ;A; It sucks 'cause I wanted to take Japanese at my university, but my major wouldn't allow me space to do so. :(

Yeah, FMA is definitely a series that was very well planned. :> I understand why some shounen manga continue--'cause it's good money and stuff, but it's unfortunate that they don't just end the series before it becomes bad. :(

@Saloiq:
Fishing and aliens? XD I'm with Zesurin--it sounds intriguing, lol! I hate how a lot of manga/anime treat the female characters as just objects and not 3-d people. :/

Hello Zesurin!

Hikari - I might check it out... But I'm really not into sports manga. I can't think of any that I've kept up with... Even ballet manga. I follow over 100 comics, so I'm not stuck for reading, thankfully. If I get the urge, I'll check out Haikyuu :)

I'm sure if you went to live there your language skills would improve quicker than if you took a course at university!
