I'm in Texas and not near any major cities.
They don't sell much Japanese-related.
There's like sushi places and two kinds of pocky >>
The store I've gone to for almost 20 years is closing.
They had anime, manga, anime figurines, Japanese snacks, etc.
And they're going out of business and I'll have no other store to buy those all 8D

Rebecca- DEATH NOTE!! Like that's the one anime most people watch even when they're not into anime, somehow. I bet it's like one of the most watched ever. Not counting stuff like Pokémon probably.
I love shinigami, they're so cute!

Moi I don't have like ANY store to buy those all :mccry:

That's harder, to my mind. That's an ongoing, you have to live with it forever thing, instead of one single moment that's the exception instead of the rule.

Gosh, I hadn't thought about Death note in like 10 years. lol

I've never tried sushi, but I know these a panda express about 40 min where I live. Honestly, I've never read anything good about that particular store so I've never even thought about going.
There was a HEB that sold pocky for awhile, they only had 3 flavors though.
There's a book store that sells manga and anime and some figures, but unless its used, it a little over priced.

Is it just that store going out or is it the entire company? If its just the store they might have a website you could buy stuff from.

Ambarsariya: When I was a kid, there was limited merch for anime, manga and Japanese things in general.
Then there was a store at the mall, and I went often.
Then it closed and they opened clothes stores.
Then I found this store, and I've been going there for YEARS.
And now it's going away.
I just got back from there, but most of their stuff is already gone.
I got some One Piece figurines, though 8u

Kiwi Cannoli: My friend got me to try Death Note. Pretty good manga. Never really saw the anime xD
Oh my God, our HEB sells chocolate and strawberry pocky ;;
Then the store going out of business suddenly started selling tons of snacks.
I got some banana pocky and it was so good xD

I believe it's the whole company. They declared bankruptcy.
I know it's just a store, but I've been going there since I was about 12 years old xD

I watched the dub when it was first coming out, it was ok. I never understood why his name was Light and it kinda took me out of it. Although that could have been the dub not explaining anything. :mclaugh:

So does ours and it also has this hazelnut flavor thats good.

That sucks about them going bankrupt. I hope you find another store like it.

I'm also in Texas. <3
We can get kiwi's, but I am in a large city with several large markets and within a 5 mile range of two Whole Foods. :P

I didn't understand Naruto or Death Note... I didn't get past the first episode for either.

By 'understand' I mean how anyone thought they were good. :x
I couldn't even do three episode rule because they turned me off so hard.

I love anime, but my family doesnt :/
Every time my sister (megurine_gem here) and I watches it my family complains :mcheh:
We once borrowed Death note from the library and watched it, mum watched a couple of episodes and a couple of months after this happened we were watching another anime, mum asked "what happened to that girl in that cartoon you watched with the book" (We were up to the part with Naomi Misora (ex female cop, with the husband Raye)

Idk, you people are probs like who cares, but she showed an interest in it so it was a win for Gem and me XD
