i've finished reading everything Agatha Christie wrote and now i realize she was my go-to cozy mystery writer. do you have any recommendations? i briefly considered Ngaio Marsh but i don't care for her detective hero :(

i want it to be Christie-ish as in, clean, respectable murders :mcheh: not much gore. i also like the way she dramatizes her characters. they're all 'types'. but that doesn't grate, somehow. or maybe i'm biased because i usually enjoy it when she introduces an 'exquisite young man'. *shrugs*

I'm almost done with the first Nancy Drew book. Not impressed so far.

I'm actually not familiar with very many mysteries!

I've been reading a few detective series. But they're mostly a bit more gory I guess. Like one of them, the main detective always has his glass eye falling out and then they talk about his socket... IDK it's funny the way it's done, sounds gross like that though XD

I really wish people did Halloween more here. Actually I just got some decorations and put them up XD A bit early maybe but I wanted a pick-me-up. I'm going to organise a Halloween party though. Just for friends. A sit-down meal at home.

So here are some of my other Cozy favorites:

Patricia Moyes
Michael Innes
Edmund Crispin
Dorothy Sayers
Heron Carvic's "Miss Seeton" series (which series continued with other authors; I only really know the Heron Carvic ones)

But I do like the Ngaio Marsh books as well as Christie novels, so you'll have to factor that in. (I just really enjoyed how that detective interacted with his became-his-wife. It was so cute)

I haven't read anything by Agatha Christie, but I actually own one or two books by her :)

I wouldn't mind spoilers on the Siri books. I doubt I will ever read them (time reasons :() and on top of that, if I do read them, I am very likely to forget what you said about them :D
