Thank you Audriella!
I used to have a tictail too, after etsy, but there was no search and tag feature like in Etsy if I remember correctly (maybe I just didn't know how it worked though). It was hard to get people to visit it.
@jacobgrey I really like that green sampler, looks like so much work! Can I follow you on Etsy? My profile is https://www.etsy.com/people/madviolin (unfortunately stuck with an old username)
To me it's a real mystery how a lot of people get popular enough to sell a lot, but I'm a very private person so it's hard to put myself out there for the whole internet to see and judge? -.- I have a stalker too so I'm almost paranoid of people online. I don't post even close to enough at social networks, but I feel that when I try I get no results. I draw too and I'm able to get a commission here and there but sometimes go a long time without any. I've never gotten one from instagram, and only one client from twitter.

Oh there was a typo in my last post haha, it was meant to be 3-25 not 325 :D

@Ashiya I followed you! I'm here: https://www.etsy.com/uk/people/jaggeddreamland (as a user) and as a shop: https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/JaggedDreamland

I saw all my favourites again by visiting my homepage and now I remembered how bad I want to buy them all XD I really need a cash injection right now.

@jacobgrey lol I really though you meant 325 hahaha
Thank you so much for the follow, I followed you too!
Ahh yeah there are so many beautiful things on there ;_; most of my favorites are crochet patterns though haha

A teacher I know from the atelier I and my mom go to for patchwork and sewing lessons wants me to make 2 amigurumis for her. Thing is they need to be done by monday morning, which means I have to really really really (really) hurry o_O it takes me a lot of time to make one, more than a week, now 2... D: And I still have to finish a digital painting commission. I guess I'll let you know how it goes!

Sounds like you have your work cut out for you! Good luck on getting it all done.

A lot of the things I want to get more urgently are stickers XD I love collecting art stickers. Every year I decorate the cover of my planner, as I always buy a plain black one, and I like to set up a colour scheme focused around one big central sticker. The last three years have been SquidVishuss stickers but I haven't seen her selling many of the ones I want lately, so I started looking at other artists, and now there is so much I want :X

Ah, you guys, I've been falling into a rabbithole of new crafting plans with this costume history research stuff! :D
I started tablet weaving, although I have only done one quite simple thing yet. But I'm liking it and can see myself sink a lot of time into it ;)
I'd post a picture, but I haven't taken one yet and right now it's dark.

jacob, your embroidery projects both turned out really pretty!

Ashiya, good luck from me too! Sounds like a lot to do! But you can do it *cheers you on*!

I have no clue about selling anything artsy, I've only ever been on the buying end of these kinds of platforms. As a buyer, I personally don't think etsy is very good for finding things you actually want. The interface for searching things with the filtering is kind of fiddly and sometimes buggy and for some things that I'd totally expect special categories for or something, it just doesn't have them. Like for sewing patterns, it's basically impossible to browse for them on there.
So to me etsy stores are most of the time things that I find through other channels like instagram or forums and then go look straight at that store. Browsing through etsy isn't a lot of fun (even though I sometimes do it when I'm looking for something and think "there must be people on etsy selling this kind of stuff*).

Thank you guys, I was able to do it! I stayed home a lot, but it was worth it :mctongue: It was good to have a better idea of how long it takes me to make one amigurumi. I posted the elephant I made here: https://www.instagram.com/p/B1HttJQBsJu/

@Chrizine I had to google tablet weaving and it seems really nice! o.o Please do share a picture when you can.

I have a Pinterest account and I've posted the links from my store there (I use it for amigurumi and handmade dolls boards), though it's not easy to get them to be seen since I don't have a following u.u

That elephant is a cutie :mclove:

I have the same problem. I have a fairly good Pinterest following, but they are all interested in photography, not sewing :mcheh: I share everything anyway but I don't see that it helps much. Most of my traffic seems to come from Twitter, I think.

Thank you! I have to make another one just like it, someone else from the atelier ordered ^^ Yay!
Do people on twitter talk a lot about crafts? I've only ever seen the illustration side of the site.

But I just noticed, Circulo, the company that makes amigurumi yarn here is soon going to sell new type of yarn for amigurumi, a mix of cotton and acrylic, supposed to be softer! I believe I've only ever used 100% cotton yarn so I'm really curious about this new release, and oh dammit I went to a website to check the colors and they're really nice, sooooo... more things for me to spend on, nooooooooooooo >o< I'm supposed to be saving up for an ipad!!! :mcsweat: :mccry: I'd better only buy 1 or 2 colors to try it, shipping can be so expensive though...

I guess? I don't know haha. I just post links to my work and a description of what it is, and throw a couple of hashtags in there. When I look at my Etsy stats I can see that most of my traffic comes from there so I guess it works at least a little.

Oh man bad times haha :D I'm not allowed to go to Hobbycraft anymore because every time I go I spend too much~ I now have an entire corner of our living room taken up with craft stuff all stacked up on top of each other, enough that I could probably go another year without needing anything. Except for the fact that every time I start a new project I magically will need a new specific type of bead or something XD

Omg, while we're on the subject of buying, I've bought some of that new yarn which is part cotton part acrylic fibers and it's very soft, but now I want to have a bunch of colors for it too xD And I started a lot of different projects.... bought a pattern for a puppy dog but found out the result is way too small, I need thicker yarn for it -_-' SO now I want to either buy more yarn or a new pattern because I don't feel like doing much of the patterns I already have lol (but I know I should use the ones I do have).
I've already spent too much for the month of september xD hmm...
I've started a big white bunny project and a little cat, so already there is a lot to do and yet I wanna do something else. :mcconf: hahaha :mcheh:
So I definitely understand you jacobgrey haha
