I really keep meaning to go to my local library. Last year
I signed up for a library card but I just don't ever get to the bottom of my reading pile. And when I feel like going to sit somewhere to work, I usually go to a cafe because they have warm drinks and it's nicer.

I did go make one, and it really just to show what books I want to read since it is a lot easier to with ebooks since placing my ereader in multiple spots on my book pile doesn't work. Lol.

I'm almost done with my first book for 2020 that I started Monday since I got too busy with holidays. It is an ebook and I've been reading it on my phone when I can't sleep at night. Different story if it was a physical book.

@Rubie: yes, it's good for visualization of your plans because 900 pages of to-read books don't really offer any. and aren't that much of a "plan" XD
glad you found the idea useful!

@jacob: no one can judge you for doing things the best way for you

in the meanwhile I'm done with the first book of the year!

'Athena's Ordeal'
by Sue London

not exactly surprised because it's a shorter book that was about 65% done by ny and I skimmed a few pages. not sorry about that by the way

You're doing great guys!

Reading a bit before going to bed works so-so for me so far because usually I end up playing guitar instead because I want to play guitar every day and I am too busy during the day xD
Anyway, trying to finish Harry Potter 2 in Russian first as I started reading it in 2018 :mcheh: But I am getting there! I just noticed I read too slowly in Russian.

Going to go for something light afterwards probably, then maybe finally a Shakespeare play and maaaybe I can get to Stig Larsson's "The girl with the dragon tattoo" in Swedish as I think my Swedish got a lot better during the past few months.

I barely began reading the Children of Blood and Bone xD But I'm getting into it. Although I was wrong, thought fantasy would be easy to understand... forgot about the strange names of places, rituals etc XD But I guess they would still be strange if I read in Polish ;P

I usually read only on my way back home from work. Because when going to work I do my language learning by apps. It's about a half an hour tour, so it's not going splendidly but at least I'm reading. I don't pick up a book at home because I might never get my nose out from it and I've got stuff to do :qhehe: Like writing is my top priority this month and I have ratties to take care of, preparing food, working out, a BF to take care off as well. No time for reading xD

@wulfilalice: I don't even have all the books I want to read on my to read shelf because half the time I go to the bookstore and pick up something that interests me, or I won't add sequels to series I'm reading until I start them. Sometimes I go through and add a lot or go through a delete a lot I know I will never read. It's a bad habit and good habit I guess?

Finished my first book of 2020. One of Fifteen down. Probably won't start my next book until next week.

I have too much I want to accomplish this weekend and I know I won't really have time to read it if I start it tonight. I also started another craft that I want to get done this weekend (even though I royally messed it up, just pushing through to finish it now. lol) Plus I'm doing that whole new year new you thing, so meal prepping and working out is going to take up time too. I feel like I'm pushing myself to make sure I get everything done that I have planned this year even though we are not even a full two weeks into the new year.

I guess I spoke too soon about not being close to finishing any books. I only had about 15 pages left in Fall On Your Knees, so I just finished that today!

I have no clue how people read more than one book at a time. I would have a hard time keeping each story world/plot/characters straight. Yet I can jump into a series almost 7 years later and still remember what happened in the first book from just a few reminders as I read.
