Extra light. lol. I could totally go for something less boring next. Luckily I'm pretty sure next on my list before I inserted this one will be. It just sucks because this book is going to be leaving so many open ends I would like answers too, but my god, I started skipping paragraphs last night because what was the point of two of these chapters besides showing this character has no love life. Hopefully the final 200 pages are interesting since it picked up last night when I was reading it.

After reading George's Marvellous Medicine, I stuck with Roald Dahl and read The Enormous Crocodile and The Vicar of Nibbleswicke. Then I started Danny the Champion of the World.

And finished Dawn of Wonder. Book 4 of 15 done. Honestly probably won't read the sequel when it comes out unless I ever get off my butt to get my library membership and get it through them. It literally would pick up for 20-40 pages then fall flat again for another 100. Luckily the last 200 were interesting. There were too many things going on at once. You have this kid wanting revenge on slavers, then him at an academy with half developed side friend characters, then this mysterious place. Just so much. It was like grasping at straws at times.

Sounds like someone wanted to cash in on Game of Thrones being popular but didn't have enough of a developed plot.

Try reading Yerofeyev's Pink Mouse. Absurd on absurd with absurd on top. XD It's entertaining although full of metaphors (I probably miss many due to my lack of knowledge about the Russian society) but the writing is chaotic. You'd think at least the writing would be organized but it only adds to the chaos, which I suppose is a conscious decision of the author.
The book is so ridiculous you keep on reading just to see what other silly things will happen.

Last night I picked up a free ebook called The Boyfriend Game. I was in the mood for some slushy romance so I picked it up, thinking why not? It was a good distraction from everything going on. I finished it at 3am XD At least that's one easy tick for the challenge.

I almost feel guilty about not reading while everyone is like #StayAtHomeReadABook but most of my reading is done during commutes and I'm not commuting anywhere any time soon. not sure if I should simply cancel my reading plans because there's just too much to do at home

how's everyone been doing?

I have been reading a bit before bed. I finished re-reading Pride and Prejudice. I'm having trouble finding another book to get into.

I still have to work while this is all going on. I am always home anyway after work so this whole "stay in shelter" order my state has is my norm. But a lot of businesses think they are essential and are still open anyway and I see people gathering around a lot still. My business was listed as an essential so. I would love to spend a week off though to get some reading done. lol. I am going to start my next book this weekend once I get caught up on everything I put off trying to finish my last boring book.

I work from home now, really loving it while other people are complaining their asses off :mcheh: Two things I'd have to work on is organizing some time for reading and for learning languages. I even got to writing more so that's good, but reading is not going well. I also read only during my ride back home from work and that's not happening. I do get up at my normal hour though, so I get my usual writing done in the morning, but I also start work half an hour early, which clears out my time for language apps. And after work I forget about them and about reading (I can't get the hang of that book, it's a crazy plot, but also a light read so I'm not reading it sitting on eggshells) and either go straight for writing or I do some leisure time then writing. So yeah, haven't read for a few days now :mcsweat:
