Changing something because you don't like it is censoring. And racial slurs are a thing that was prominent in history and is still an issue to this day. changing it is just covering it up instead of using it to learn from.

That song "this land is your land" that they'd have us sing at thanksgiving to celebrate the friendship the pilgrims had with the natives pisses me off... it's more like "this land is my land, and this land is my land, because I said so, and you can go cry about it" those are the true lyrics >:x

I hate thanksgiving because it's just another holiday built on lies and genocide. that and I hate the food served >->, and the people who yell at me for eating what I prefer to eat on that day... IF I WANT PIZZA ON TURKEY DAY I WILL HAVE PIZZA~ D:<

I don't think my mom remembers Hitler.. I didn't know about him until history class.. and it felt like I was being lied to.. and I was. Not once did they talk about the genocide and death camps and torture >:x it was just "hitler started a war and we finished it because we're awesome"

Nah, its a publishing company that has been censoring their stuff and got caught. like paragraphs to pages worth of stuff being cut out. Stuff the editors didn't like were changed. (rapist becoming a simple womanizer, rape becomes a simple bad first time. someone remembering how tough it was to be a homosexual in one world and comparing it to their new world was reworded and lots left out)

Most don't no. Some just close their eyes to it and let it happen and just stay silent because it's scary as fk.... QAQ so scary...

I think you can know about racism and still not like being forced to read a book full of racial slurs.

It irks me when people who don't have Native American ancestry tell people "go back to your own country!"
Why don't you Bu

I celebrate Thanksgiving, but it's one out of two days a year that we have special food.
That sounds sad, but that's how it is.
We get good food two days a year xD
Other one being Christmas.

We didn't learn about it in history class.
We had Texas history and AMERICAN history.

I see :\

You force yourself on someone, you deserve a punch in the throat u8
And if you call the police for assault, they should punch you in the throat Bu

My 7th grade english teacher had us read huckleberry finn and we had discussions on the n-word a few times during the reading. Why it was acceptable at the time Mark Twain wrote the book, why it's bad now. I remember the first time we ran into the word and she asked each of us, one by one, what we thought of the word. I remember telling her that my friend Bryanna was called that once and it made her cry.

She really did utilize that book as a teaching aid. Not just as an english literature subject but as something to use against racism. Parents were more pissed off at her reading the Tell-Tale Heart than they were at her reading Huckleberry Finn..

I think the reason I'm so passionate about these books getting censored is because of how that teacher used it as a teaching aid against racism. Other's should learn from her example. (she was also the only teacher that didn't make me feel like it was my fault I was getting bullied and actually tried helping me. And for the life of me, I can't remember her name! DX)

--

Mom is one of those "go back to your own country" people.. =A= its soo.. fking.. ANNOYING when she does that... I tell her she is being racist when she acts this way. While she does have some native american in her, its not enough to tell.. Apparently my grandmother burned everyone's papers proving they had a native ancestor.

Sometimes I wonder if I actually have native blood in me. Other than my high cheek bones, I don't look native at all. =/ Mom.. can't be trusted. >->,

--

o3o you don't have Easter Sunday? Just Thanks Giving and Christmas? oAo
(Still doesn't eat Ham or Turkey or Pie so none of the 'holiday' foods appeal to me. Unless its pumpkin pie.. only pie I'll eat)

... Where's my Ohio History!! D:< WTF! I feel gypped!

I guess it's just a product of the time. It was okay back then to call people that.
But now it's acknowledged as a slur and people don't like it.
A family member called my bestie the n word once.
The word just fills me with rage. I don't like it.

Tell-Tale Heart is about murder and it's a horror, right? People don't like that.
When I was a kid, I was reading horror galore xD
I WISH my school gave us horror to read Bu

I don't know why one would burn their history ._.
No one has the right to tell someone to go back to their own country, it just extra irks me when people whose ancestors stole this land feel like they have the right to tell others to get out xD

I know I have Native American ancestry because my great...great grandma was full-blooded.
I'm only half white, but my skin is fairly pale so I always thought I just looked white.
My mom said people asked if I was mixed and my mom said yes and they said they could tell.

Nope, no Easter Sunday either. Thanksgiving and Christmas u8

Texas history seems like something Texas would do 8u

My one childhood friend got called that and it made her cry. Never liked the word.

There are many words I don't like. I yell at mom for using them.

People don't like books with morals o3o Tell-Tale Heart had a moral. ... Don't kill or guilt will get to you.

Mine is my.. great great? grandmother? maybe another great? I dunno... That's on my mothers side, she was cherokee
Then supposedly on my father side I have blackfoot ancestry.

I know more about texas history than I do about ohio...
ohio history... um... our lake erie caught fire... o3o

My bestie was a prodigy. She never failed at academics or sports or being a nice person.
She never once acted like she was better than anyone, even though she was.

I say the c word a lot because I...just like using it.
Most people clutch their pearls when I use it, but my bestie and I use it a lot 8u

I enjoyed horror stories when I was a kid - I took out as many books as I could from the library. I even took the same ones out over and over again. I actually miss them sometimes. I don't even remember their titles xD;

I have Choctaw and Chickasaw on my mom's side. I don't know what my dad's side is. He said he thinks he's Comanche or Apache. Everyone who would know are dead or people I don't know xD

How does a lake catch fire >8u
Ohio sucks u8<
My bestie lived in Delaware and we just joke about it all the time.
I remember finding this thing on ghost stories from each state and I told her and she said "We have none in Delaware u8"
I was like "OH REALLY >BD" and I looked it up and it was blank. No stories. >Bu

My childhood friend is... a work-a-holic? xD

o3o I'm trying to think of what the c word is

When I was a kid I loved vampire stuff so I was always reading Anne Rice and there were a few Amelia Atwater-Rhodes that I'd read.

Too much pollution o3o wait.. according to what I'm reading the movie "The Crow" made that up and people believe it.. thanks..

It was actually Cuyahoga River that caught fire. It feeds into lake eire. Apparently it likes catching on fire >->,

I coulda swore I read an article on Lake Erie catching fire... =/ wtf..

You're still in contact 8u?

What if I said "c**t"? Does that help u8

I liked werewolves when I was a kid. Now I like vampires more xD
The books I read sometimes had stories from all around the world.
One in particular centered around black people and their African heritage and scary stories.

The Crow took place in Ohio?
The lake clearly has mental issues 8u
It keeps trying to burn itself to death.

Yea, she's mom's payee daughter.

ah yes o3o

The Crow did not, but apparently the fire was referenced in the movie? o3o The movie made it a lake on fire, but apparently it was actually a river.

Ahhh, that's good then 8u
I haven't seen or talked to my bestie in a long time.
I stalk her on Facebook occasionally xD;

I was trying not to be too explicit...
I mean I've said it on here before <<
But really...it just shows how angry I am when I use it.

I...think I know what part you're talking about.
I know The Crow kills a guy by strapping him to his car and sending it into the water.
He then leaves his signature by making a burning crow symbol.
If that's what it meant by the river being on fire.
