I've had that feeling of someone lying in bed behind me but it wasn't a nice feeling... Felt more like a threat. It could've been sleep paralysis, I'm not sure.

My encounters with ghosts are mainly in my dreams, so I don't think you could call them encounters. I've had some more or less symbolic dreams with diceased family members. I remember once I dreamt about my great-grandma coming randomly to our apartment and greeting us very excited to see us. She was wearing a white gown and looked much younger and perkier than I remembered her (she died at 91 yo and couldn't leave her bed). And my mom and I were asking her how she's doing and she said she's great now, that it's very nice where she is and she's happy, etc. And I'm not completely sure but it might've been the night after her name's day or something.
Another times I have interesting coincidences, like once I was figuring some stuff out in therapy about how many things in my life have happened over a short period of time, and I realized that same year was the year my grandpa died. Later I called my mom to ask the exact date, because I completely forgot and she told me it was January 7th. Only the next day it occurred to me that that therapy session and the call with mom was actually on January 7th! So I basically spent a good part of his death anniversary just thinking about him, reminiscing, alone and with mom.
Side note: I don't believe in coincidences anymore XD

For me it's usually very symbolic and rarely the diceased one speaks. Or I know we talked, but can't remember what about. I remember this one dream I had not too long after my great-grandma's death: my grandma's close family, her parents (both diceased), siblings and their spouses/children etc. were walking together on a sidewalk, and then my great-grandparents crossed the road together. It seemed pretty straight-forward to me. It was like knowing they've found each other on the other side.
A few months ago, when I was trying to design my website, I had very particular vision, and so in the dream I was trying to draw some stuff by hand and I couldn't make it right, growing frustrated and then I gave up. And then my grandpa took that paper from me, drew something much less complicated but also conveyed what I meant. He didn't utter a word in that dream, he was just gesturing. It's like he was telling me to not cling so tight to a certain vision and don't complicate things when I can make it simpler and easier.

I think I only once had a dream where my grandpa spoke with me, I was asking him if he's happy there and he said yes. I'm sure there was more of the conversation (I most certainly asked what it's like in there, but I either don't remember what he said or he deliberatly didn't tell me XD)

My grandma sometimes dreams of grandpa and she tells me he doesn't ever speak to her. It's just gestures, smiles etc. Even when she tries to ask him things, he remains silent.

I'm pretty sure I once dreamt of Ash's mother and she told me to give him a message. But I'm not sure, I might be making stuff up I do definitely remember telling him about that dream and he was happy I told him. He doesn't really dream of her, although he wishes it to happen as he misses her terribly. I think it's because it might freak him out too much, and diceased loved ones don't want to scare us.

I do not remember my dreams nowadays, unless they're really bad and often contain a kid doing something stupid or bad or endangering themselves. D:

I wake up when I'm too hot, my back hurts, I'm too cold or my nose is runny, cannot remember the last night I slept well without waking up.

I wake up when I'm too hot/cold, I got a stuffed nose and can't breathe, my belly hurts because I'm getting my period or I have to pee or I'm extremely thirsty.

I don't always remember my dreams. Most often than not, if I remember a dream, it felt special and symbolic, like a message from my subconscious mind. Or it would have to be epic or just completely crazy XD
I try to write my dreams down. Sometimes I forget, but I know last time I had a dream, it was something about me standing up to someone and taking my free will back, something along those lines. And that's while I'm waiting for my last day at the company. (Tuesday will be my last day, I can't wait! )

I've had a few night in a row of terrible back pain. I'd wake up and lay down on my yoga bricks in elevated fish pose. After 10-15 minutes of being a fish, my back would feel better and I could go back to sleeping like a human being

@Moi, maybe your mom dreams of your old house because there's some unfinished business in there? Or past trauma? Her subconscious mind be telling her to go back to something in the past. Might not even be related to the house, perhaps just to the time when you were living there. If not, I'm sure there are many online dream meanings and you'd find one for a house one used to live in.
