I try to order as little as possible. Buying local is way better - you are actually helping someone to keep their little shop open.
But I guess it's way harder if you try to avoid leaving the house.

I tend to order online because they don't sell stuff where I live.
That and with the free shipping, it's cheaper for us.

Yes it is cheaper.
But if you think about it, it's fishy. How can be cheaper something that is delivered just for you than something that's delivered in bulk to an store?

I'm not against online shopping, and I do order some stuff.
But as a general rule it's my second option.

It's okay to not want to buy stuff from Amazon because of their workers being treated poorly but they're not the only company that does that.
People have said Walmart treats their workers like garbage too.
No telling how many other companies do that.
We can't stop going to all of them u8

Capitalism is inherently exploitative.

And of course it's not just Amazon.
It's pretty much everywhere.

Amen to that.

I've heard a lot that Walmart is bad, but both my parents worked for Walmart for years and they loved working there.
My mom even wanted to go back to working there when she came home.
It's confusing to me.

I do know she got fired from one Walmart because the manager was yelling at her in front of customers.
My mom talked back, telling the manager off and got fired.

I don't know Walmart.
But most large companies are badmouthed at some point, because they of course are focused on making money and not on taking care of their employees - so eventually you end up hearing stories.
But that's to be expected from large companies.

And you may work for them and be completely happy, of course.

Small bussinesses work in a different way. They also have different flaws, of course, but as a general rule the manager tends to feel closer to the employee.

It's a big place to shop here and around the US.
I tend to go to a store chain that only exists in Texas more than Walmart.
The one down the street, I've been going to my whole life.
My mom even knows and talks to a lot of the workers.

My dad co-owned a deli for a time. I went to visit him for a few months and I really liked helping out.
I love food and I loved making food for people.
My dad especially loved it - he put so much care into the food and keeping his kitchen clean and everything.
It made me sad that it wasn't bringing in money and they had to close it.

That I would choose to go to over a well-known food chain.
