Ah, Word of Honor was quite nice, one of the better BL adaptations for sure. It's really sad that the main actor got into a bunch of controversies and now the show is taken down in China

I feel like insubordinate is one of those really weird accusations, like it could work if people were really disrespectful, but it can also work if a manager just want to screw someone over D: How do you even measure that?

Well my title is “administrative assistant”. It really is just a fancy title for “glorified maid” lol. XD;; or nanny. Or like…their mother. 8U

But yeah, i dunno how whatever i did/do is considered insubordination. Like the first time this happened, i was working downstairs, maybe doing some restocking or reshelving or whatnot? And i have a personal strict lunch policy, i was originally told that i should take my lunch around 12:30. Anyways, i told someone (i think it was the CEO/my supervisor’s supervisor) that i was heading up to heat up lunch, would it be okay for me to do that and i’d come back down and finish up my task(s)? Somehow, it turned into a “you shouldn’t be telling me what to do, that’s considered insubordination” issue. Like my casual comments became insubordination.

As for this time’s issue, i have no idea, and i’m scared to ask. 8U

Oh boy it was a mess.
(Though to be fair you can still access it on Netflix, and I thiiiink it may be back up on some Chinese streaming sites? But the main actor's name got removed from it all...)

Soooo the short version is that after the show blew up, the main actors also got boosted to extreme popularity overnight. Then, a few months later, some people dug up photos from the main actor's past when he visited Japan. In a photo, you can see the Yasukuni Shrine in the background.
AND THE INTERNET BLEW UP.
Because the Yasukuni Shrine worships Japanese war generals who committed atrocities in China during WWII. So it's widely regarded in the mainland as a place no respectful Chinese person should ever visit.
Then people dug up more photos, and here's where things became a witch hunt, and basically accused him of being a national traitor.

So the actor got blacklisted, and the show was dragged down with him.

This is a really rough position to be in, I would say try to talk it out but that might make things worse if your supervisors are being unreasonable? But not saying anything wouldn't be fair to you either DDD:

Yeah i thought i would be just answering phones, doing some filing, ordering office supplies, doing order entry….but ive also been down in the retail store, restocking, updating the POS, approving deliveries….8U like how did working in the office turn into working in retail? XD;; before you know it, i’d be sitting behind the cash register, cashing out purchases! (I work at an italian meat production facility, there’s meat production at the back, the front has the retail store for selling and the second floor is the office).

Yeah? I mean, i thought i was? Maybe the way i phrased it sounded like i was telling him what to do? I dunno…8U im just so confused.

It's a super messy situation, honestly, nowadays mainland China's extreme nationalism is frightening.
On one hand, Yasukuni Shrine is a controversial place. However, the thing is, there is no proof at all that he even actually went there. He literally just happened to take a photo in some tourist road that had a sign pointing to the shrine in the background

The general consensus among more reasonable fans is that he got majorly screwed over. (My bestie was a huge fan of him, so she updated me on all the news while it was happening LOL I now know way too much about the entire drama)

Buuuuut there's a new twist.

A few weeks ago, ZZH finally came back to the public eye by posting on his instagram, which was great. BUT, dude spent the message basically accusing Gong Jun of taking part in screwing him over. Which had fan going like wuh?

Gong Jun is doing just fine from what I know so far. Just doing his own thing.


I feel like admin is just a position that sounds good on paper, but in actuality, you end up with all the messy tasks. D: Our admin has to do scheduling, office maintenance, sales, and all the random stuff too... It's really a lot of hard work, and hard to do well. Admins are the underappreciated backbones of any business.

Yeahhh, I mean, if you do your job and just keep to yourself, not much anyone can do or say about you. Don't let others' issues hinder your day!

Sounds a bit like my direct supervisor. She’s the office administrator but i’ve seen her going into the production area and a lot of the time, she’s in the morning half of the retail store, cashing out customers…8U and i hear they’re trying to open up a new store so she’s doing all the ordering and purchasing and crapppp that THAT is….8U like truly, the whole “backbones” thing, she’s the living embodiment of that. 8U like my CEO is always like “I trained her in everything she does now” but my supervisor knows all the suppliers and she has a rapport with them and stuff. But my CEO? Sure he might’ve taught her everything but a lot changes in 8-9 years…8U do you still think you can operate the company without her? 8U

Yeah which is why i’ve just kinda shrugged it off. XD;; and hopefully nothing bad happens. Its either that or find a new job….8U i don’t think i get paid enough for this crap. XD;;

It's hard to get a good admin! Last year, the company I work for went through this insane phase where the old, competent admin quit (because of the low pay), and they just couldn't find a new one who can do the job well. I think they went through 4-5 admins in less than a month before finally settling on one to stick with? @x@;;;;;;

Maybe, if you have the time, it would be a good idea to be on the lookout for new positions just in case. If the work environment gets too toxic it's always good to have a back up plan

I have only lightly read through this because I have no horse in this race about actors.

But I'm always amazed about how intense people can be about some things. Like even if that dude went to the temple maybe he just didn't know what it was about? Like I've gone to a lot of places that look interesting without realizing the background.


Also, it sounds like your job might be high on power. Some people like that. They should not be in charge.
