Well you can talk about what kind of food culture tips you’ve heard of, not necessarily chinese. XD for me, talking about chinese food culture is easier because i lived/living it. XD

Every culture has interesting food culture!
I remember when I first came to Canada, I was really surprised by the common cold remedy of ginger ale and crackers? Like, how does soda help a cold? But some of my white friends swear by it LOL

Are you sure they weren't walking about an upset stomach instead of a cold?
Because ginger is helpful for that. And saltines are plain so they can also help with settling an upset stomach. I would say the same for plain rice or porridge.

I'm not completely sure tbh :O But the upset stomach thing does sound very logical! Though for me drinking any carbonated thing isn't great for my stomach, I don't think I'd dare to drink any soda when I'm feeling unwell /D;;;

I think ginger ale is just a very easily acquired version of ginger.
Because ginger tea will also work. But it takes forever to steep.
Mint helps with nausea.
I have lots of issues with nausea and stuff too.

I usually just boil fresh ginger with red sugar to help :D
When my stomach doesn't feel good I have to drink hot things

Yeah, ginger tea is just boiled ginger. it takes a little while to steep properly though.

I think that's just the Chinese name for brown sugar. There might be some differences in the canes or ingredients used but I'm not too sure @x@;
