You know, I thought for years I was allergic to cottonwood?
Turns out, nope. I'm not. I'm allergic to ragweed -which pollen season for that is the same as the fluff season for cottonwood. So every year when I'd start sneezing and seeing the cottonwood fluff, I thought it was that. And it wasn't! Poor trees were just the scapegoat for ragweed. Who knew? (Besides the allergy specialist who clued me in, lol)

But you're right. It definitely gets messy.

But since we're in a relatively rural area, it's hard to tell amongst all the other wild and messy stuff, sometimes.
If you go two streets over, further in towards town, there's a neighbor who likes to keep a super tidy garden/yard. They work on it so hard! But everyone else doesn't bother. Maybe if there were only a few mature trees per house, but the average population density around here skews wildly in the favor of the trees instead of the people, so there's constant leaf and twig debris, followed closely by animal tracks and sign.
The bushes are large enough to hide several herds of deer -who can be quite startling when seven of them suddenly bounce out and dash in front of you, and you're left warily waiting to see if there's a hidden, laggard eighth before it's your turn to go...

yeah, like every time i see a mess in my little pot of water lily plants/lotus leaves, its like.....seeds or other plant litter from other places blowing in. and i'm like ocd so i have to scoop it all out lol.

This would not be an ideal neighborhood for you, then. >.<
But I bet that kind of drive to keep things clean is really handy for the health of your water tank inhabitants!

Only when it's random stuff, though? The leaves on the plants you're raising don't bother you, right?
What about all those fancy cliche scenes of people taking baths with floating flower petals on the water? Since they are placed there deliberately, are they acceptable, or when you see those bath salt advertisements with the fancy tub and fancy petals, does it just look messy to you?
I wonder if the advertisers for those things ever considered that the flower petals might be a point against them, ha ha ha

Yeah I don’t mind if it’s like the leaves of the plant I’m growing floating in the water. And I’ve never really taken a bath with petals and whatnot. Thinking on it, if I had petals in my bath water, I would probably think something like “what a mess to clean up” lol.

There are some (fake) petals that actually dissolve into the water like a bath bomb or bath salts would. I love those, very romantic without clean up required.
Obviously it wouldn't work so well at a hotel but for a bath at home, it's perfect.

Unfortunately, I've only ever seen them in Japan-only shops and I haven't searched for them online either so I unfortunately can't point you guys in the right direction.
