The ones on my main are all only given their own element, on my mule I've done the mix-a-lot, and I also only dig with them in their own element.
Still once we switched from I think 2nd to 3th set of digging items their ability dwindled fast till eventually being zilch.
They still find me quest items though, so there is that. :}

Maybe it's some strange long-term glitch or something, idk Anyway, I'll send you some extras in bulk soon

Maybe, there were some other issues around that time with certain things making our knuffel go invisible if they wanted to dig so maybe mine just got set odd after that.
