my nails are thin and flexible. I rarely have 'em bend backwards unless I've managed to jam my hand somehow, which is always painful.
I don't mind having kinda bendy nails, because while they're bendy, they're still pretty strong, and rarely break.

Yes, same here, they bend backwards after accidents. Things that are already painful by themselves.
The backwards nail is just an add-on to the original painful feature.

It's basically adding insult to injury at that point :/

That just sounds horrifying! I'm so glad my nails have never done that to me. On the other hand, some of them are so (far too) short and hurt randomly because of that. :(

I read your post and instantly got goosebumps! This gives me the creeps thinking about my nails bending backward. Eww. No thank you. My nails are somewhat thin and I have had a few that have done this and it hurts so bad.

Gave me goosebumps too; sadly I have an awful habit of biting mine so they never really get that long to bend.

I have really, thin bendy nails too

I have a mini heart-attack every time they bend dramatically backwards or something, because they're so prone to breaking and...*shudder*
tearing.
It's not so bad now that I'm not working retail anymore, but I used to deck them out in a thick layer of gel polish to try and stop them from bending and breaking all the time. It wasn't perfect, but it certainly helped.
