I buy all colors of everything I can... at KofK.
For everything else I'm a very concious buyer.
I used to move a lot, because of my job, and carrying much stuff was a pain in the ass. So I became very critical about buying stuff just because it's cute, or because I may use it, etc.
I only buy things I really plan to use enough to justify the space they take up. And even so I usually do a lot of researching.

I only impulse buy at the supermarket. "Oh, these new chocolate, we should try this! Oh, I had never seen these cereals, let's get a box!"
It's more gluttony than greed xD


I've regreted spending so much money on KofK though.
Back in the day I donated monthly, cause I wanted the GftQ, and that money did not come any easy. But it was not an impulse buy, I had considered it seriously, it's just that after a few years the total was huge... I could have bought cool RL stuff with that.
(Now my economic situation is much different, which makes my donations less regrettable.)

@Amura: Ahhh I do that too! When I see new flavours of chips or chocolate at the supermarket (especially the weird ones, like japanese sour plum chips), I snatch it immediately XD


I also tend to go through phases where I obsessively buy a bunch of one thing. The last one was travel-sized perfume sampler packs... I ordered like, three or four sets from Sephora one after another in a "collect them all" mentality before I stopped myself

Yeah, we recently spent a weekend in a city, and there were Asian markets - not something you get in my town.
So I grabbed a bit of everything I had never tried before.
And even brought home a sauce which I don't know how to use, but whatever.

Though that is an adept description. I'm finding it really hard to chat in other people's hangouts due to personal reasons, so it's nice having my own safe sanctuary here. Thus it's only fair that I offer incentives for people to take the trouble of dropping by here

And ooo if you post a photo of the sauce I might be able to look into it for you? We cook with all the Asian seasonings in our household.

Online, no one knows how i look like, there’s no instant stereotypes since noone can see me…8U bc no matter how you say you’re unbiased and such, your mind will tell you otherwise…so i like online chatting but not real life chatting. XD;;

I find that work socializing is a real gamble. I've had to deal with superiors who are just... crazy, but I've also been fortunate enough to meet really really awesome coworkers who're now my best friends!

Online chatting is definitely a lot less stressful than rl chatting!
irl I constantly worry if I had accidentally said something off, or if my tone got interpreted a certain way, or if I missed some cue and the other person is uncomfortable, and I find that I fret over these things to a bothersome degree >___< (Actually working on that at therapy atm, I realized that these habits came as byproducts of this long toxic friendship I had, which is just.... great)

Anyways with online chatting I still fret, but to a much smaller degree, so it's been super nice!


Side note: There's a long weekend coming up where I live!!! I'm so excited!!! Long weekend means I can finally get a break from work and go out QuQ

I'm uncomfortable with having to socialise for work, definitely. Life if I didn't HAVE to socialise, if I only socialise when I feel like it that's when I'm comfortable.
And after a certain amount of interacting with people I need alone time to recover. So often once work is done I don't want to talk to a soul irl.
Online chatting is always comfortable for me if the website is... if that makes sense? Twitter used to make me anxious until I stopped visiting it. KofK always feels comfy. So does Dreamwidth. It depends on where I feel at home online.

The environment really makes a huge difference online and irl!
Like with my work, we have two offices. The vibe of one is just suffocating and going there makes me so so so drained. While the other one where I'm now spending most of my time in is super comfortable and friendly, so hanging out there actually makes me feel more energized XD

I think the sauce I bought is very prevalent in Asian cooking, it's called Hoisin sauce.
The name resonated so I thought it would be something easy to look for recipes.
I just have not bothered yet. Busy these days. (And not only at KofK XD)

I suppose people does not have that much of a terrible opinion of me, but I can't help worrying about that kind of stuff.

Oooooo hoisin sauce is amazingly versatile!! Think of it like soy sauce but way way tastier.
Putting it in stir fries gives it more body and fullness in taste (idk if it makes sense lol). It's used really commonly in stir fry noodles!
It's also really good to add when you're marinating meats!
