Yeah, I waste my time tremendously. But mostly my leisure time.
When I'm focused on my work I don't go day-dreaming. I do it mostly when I'm relaxed.
I suppose that's why it comes so naturally at bed time.
Just yesterday my son asked me, in the middle of the street as we were walking to our car: "Mom, what's the matter? You are making funny faces!"
Well, my dear son, I was day-dreaming - just as you do but without all the explosion sounds xD

I often daydream for comfort, so when I'm stressed and overwhelmed I'll go into daydream mode and waste all my time instead of facing my tasks like an adult.
Haha, explosion sounds XD

Amura your son should definitely join KofK. He'd fit right in!

Yeah, we call it simply "exploding" xD
He does it mainly in the street (I also daydream while walking and there is no conversation), wherever we go he is jumping and making noises to fit his thoughts.
- What are you thinking about, son?
- Nothing, nothing.
- Surely it was something, you were
exploding.
- Oh.
Li li, I do think he would fit. If only he were a bit older and could speak some English! :D
Actually I'm quite surprised he never showed any interest in my knuffel, whenever I'm leveling them up or whatever. Considering how he loves (learning facts about) Pokemon I kinda expected him to get curious about my pets!

We should start some threads in Spanish (He speaks Spanish, right?). I know we have other users who speak it. I can garble my way through to create some truly epic misunderstandings and that's about it, but the practice would be good for me, so....
Pokemon is something I only know from indirect sources. I'll hear people talk about it and see references and jokes and sometimes it will get explained but that's about it.

Yeah, he does.
But nooooo, thank you, I don't want him as addicted as I am xD
He's now watching the series. Currently on season 5 - and there are 23 or so.
But he mostly loves reading bout them!

Since the 90s.
I remember the first time it was aired in my country, that was 1999.
He has been watching the series in order, but also watched some random recent episodes at his granparents'.
It looks like it's pretty much the same.
Well, only different is that it's more noisy, but I suppose times have changed for media too.

General trends, yes? Noisier, flashier, brighter colors, faster paced...
Attention spans have been shrinking for decades, after all.
Not sure why?

I think so, but it was never so obvious as watching episodes of the same series - but seasons 20 years apart.
I think we are getting overstimulated.
We receive more stimuli than previous generations (TV screens in all homes, music in every store, etc.) and the younger generations even more than us (playing on screens since they are a few months old, smart phones & tablets avaliable since they are kids, etc.).
The tolerance to those stimuli grows and you need a bigger impact to catch that person's attention.
So of course media uses whatever is required to be shiny and catch people's attention, and continues overstimulating young people.
But in all honesty I think this situation is something to seriously worry about.
We don't notice it yet but people are becoming more stupid! In a zombie-like fashion.
