It's not exactly sleep paralysis, they said it was an overactive brain/imagination. I could move, my brain just refused to let go of the dream making feel so real it was impossible for me to move beyond what I could see (which was basically the bed and no further) and since I'm naturally quiet when scared or spooked (I'll meep at most but never scream which, if you think about it, is a really bad response should someone try to accost you, though I'm better at shouting now than I used to be)
I just remained 'locked' in my own brain and the dream's aftereffects until someone managed to drag me out of it or found me...
Even now I'm still like that whenever that happens. Though it's lessened from every night as a child to none for years and now it's back to once every few months and then some 'insomnia' afterwards...
I also spend less time afraid to move simply because I can reason through it now, even if it still takes me quite a bit of convincing. I just feel like such a coward afterwards, so I always hope it'll never happen when my friends can see me. I just feel so broken the entire day then... :qoops:

Hikaru no go was pretty good indeed!

Ah, I see... That sounds pretty awful.

Aha, yeah. I was so into it that I bought two goban --a magnetic once which I later gave to my cousin, and a cheap one with no legs which I still have. I'm terrible at go. *facepalm* I enjoyed it while it lasted though; it was a good series. I kinda wish they continued on into adulthood. I really enjoyed the way the characters were written...er, depicted.

I mean, Hikaru has a personality that seems pretty open --he's like his name; he gives the impression of light. However, to people in the show, he can be pretty mysterious and deceptive, yeah? And Akira, while cool and collected, actually has a pretty big temper and can be incredibly impulsive. I really like how the characters were written.

Yeah. characterdepth and depiction can really make or break a story...

I'm no good at go either. Though I really wanna learn either shogi or mahjong myself. It seems more like my kind of game. Go I start looking crosseyed at after a while :mcheh:

Wow, this thread moves so fast I can't keep up.
No one speaks cockney in England anymore, Vineda... So goodness know how you would possibly have learnt to speak it.

I actually really like Clamp. I love the art, and the stories. Especially Tsubasa and XXXHolic. But then I don't necessarily go for things that are action oriented. I like XXXHolic for that. and I love Japanese folklore. I'm so happy they've started up Tsubasa again, because I didn't like the last series' ending. Tsubasa World Chronicle has been fun so far, and I personally love the characters.

But speaking of Go and Shogi. You must read 3gatsu no Lion. One of my all time favourites in terms of art, character and story. So beautiful and evocative, and it's all about professional Shogi.

Ooooh! I'll try that then... I have a travel shogi set, but sadly I don't know how the game works...

Jessicat: I know cockney isn't used anymore. I really don't know why I know it... :mcsweat:
I got tired during one class and the teacher heard it and just went 'Are you sure you're not English cause I don't know where you'd pick up a cockney accent'..
I felt so ashamed... I really don't like how I sound then. Until she said it I didn't even know that accent was 'cockney'. It sounded like 'chewing gum English' to me.

The only explanation I can give is that I may have either learned subconciously from tv or from my first host family (though that was such a brief period. I wouldn't know how my brain functions) I hate it when I talk like that.

@Vine: Aha, I really enjoy mahjong. I'd like to play it more often, but my relatives kinda stopped playing when my grandma passed away.

I wouldn't mind learning shogi, but something tells me that I won't be good at it.

@Jessicat: Sorry...I kinda do that. XD;

I like action-oriented stories, slice-of-life, and supernatural [more on the folktale end of things].

Yeah... Shogi seems fun, but that doesn't mean I'll be good at it... (I'm awful at chess and I've been told it's similar)

I would like to learn mahjong though... But I have no clue where you'd be able to learn that...

Well, with Youtube, you can learn anything. XD

It's kind of difficult since the only ones I found immediately started in on a WHOLE bunch of words that I didn't understand without explaining them... :mcheh:

I have been trying though... via books and youtube. It's just never starting at the basic of the basic so I haven't managed to learn anything yet.

Ooh, I see. Yeah, the jargon can mess you up. Basically, Mahjong consists of matching sets. The most confusing part is just when they pass out the tiles in the beginning; I memorized how to do it once, but then I forgot.
