I spent a portion of today wandering around with a cat, trying to find out what house she belongs to. She looked very well fed and sleek and well-groomed and she was super friendly and even had a little collar (but no tag with information), only it was raining and she was doing that desperately-friendly, meowing-if-you-try-and-leave, trotting-alongside-for-blocks thing that says to me "unhappy kitty, expects humans to fix things" so I was worried she was lost or locked out.

Awww D8
Did you ever find anyone?

That's why I don't like my cat being outside.
I don't trust this world >~>
Someone will steal her or a car will hit her or a dog will kill her.
But I'm paranoid also so 8u

My old neighbors always had this kitten in their yard.
One day it came over into mine so I told the mom that her kitten was getting into my yard and I had dogs and I didn't know if my dogs would hurt it.
She said "Oh, that's not our kitten! We just feed it and take it inside when it rains 8D"

I found neighbors of the cat who knew which house she belonged to and said they would shelter her until it stopped raining, so I left her with them but never actually found the owner(s).

Kind of like your neighbors, I guess! (Did your neighbors know who the kitten belonged to?)

Also I found out where someone I knew lived! I mean, I knew them from running into them at one of my jobs a lot, and we talk a lot every time we run into each other and stuff, but I didn't know her super well or anything, and it turns out she lives at one of the houses I knocked at while trying to find the cat's people.

Thanks, Moi. Sorry if I put you on the spot.

But I don't think that's supposed to be healthy, either.

Do you have to pay per visit? I found one that I can go to for free but I have to be on the wait-list every year and if I miss more than two weeks then I have to be put back on the wait-list. And also they're students.

Click on the bottom-right corner of the video to turn sound on.

Aw, poor kitty. I did that a few weeks ago. I saw two coyotes crossing the street into the park nearby and then saw a kitten down the street so I tried figuring out which house she belongs to but they weren't answering the doors and then the cat got fed up with me and ran away under a car. Hopefully she got alert enough to evade the coyotes if they decided to return.

It's better for both nature and the cat for her to be indoor cat, anyway.

lol the kitten adopted them.

Oh, small world! I hope she doesn't turn up expecting you to do your job for her on your off time, though. I've read of things like that.

I think I'm safe -I know where she lives, now, but she still doesn't know where I live, after all.

Poor kitten! I hope she evaded the coyotes. (I should be worried about poor coyotes, too, shouldn't I? Since they don't have any humans feeding them and are entirely at the mercy of finding food on their own. But... kitten....)

Zia: I see my therapist Robert 8u
I've been seeing him since my religious breakdown.
I'm waiting for the holidays to end because it's so busy and my mom had a ton of appointments this month.

>XD
I've seen that video.
That dog is literally me 8,u

Stupid coyotes >8u
You know, some people will kill coyotes and hang their skins up to tell other coyotes to get the hell out of that area.

We have stray cats all over the place. My cat I've had for like 15 years was born from a stray.
Actually...my dog Hyde and my dog Saya were born from a stray too.
Their mom appeared one day and my dad tried to run her off, but she kept coming back.
He said he eventually opened the gate, said "Come on!" and she ran into our yard and we kept her until she died many years later 8u

And speaking of cats...I went to the store with my mom and aunt and when we got back, our neighbor had a few cats on his porch and he was holding a kitten.
They've been helping take care of some strays and apparently two of them had three kittens each xD
He was like "You guys look like you could use three kittens 8U"
Trust me, I'd take them all in if I could.
But I can't afford to care for more than what pets I already have xD;

Also, sorry for any typos or anything.
I'm extremely distracted right now for some reason o__O

Well, good, Akili!

If it's any consolation, the coyotes looked pretty plump.

Okay. I hope you get to see him soon, Moi.

lol derp until someone touches you and then full-on demon?

I mean, I'm in Canada. The most that'll happen is that people will ask them to leave.

Aw, she adopted you guys. Good decision on her part, apparently.

Aw, poor kittens. I hope they found a good home for them.

I didn't notice anything. :qsml:

Aww bears 8u
Canada seems really nice.
I don't think I could handle the cold, though xD

The older kitten, which I should call cats now since they're big, were outside with us while we raked and bagged leaves yesterday.
The little yellow actually let me pet him and he lied next to me and watched me rake and bag leaves.

People seem to scare cats by...being aggressive in their approach.
Like my sister ran to the cat to pet it and scared it.
My mom walked over to one quickly to pet it and scared it.
I walked slowly to it and held my hand out and let it sniff it.
Then I slowly stepped closer and slowly lowered my hand and pet it.
It makes me feel like I'm the same as the cats.
I get easily startled and people should probably not rush to me and be loud 8u

It actually does help that the coyotes looked plump! :D (They eat a lot of stone fruits, right? Do they ever do that stagger-around-drunk-from-fermented-fruits thing up your way?)

I'm impressed that the bears responded so well to him, but I guess it makes sense. He wasn't threatening so she didn't have to respond to that, but it was human, so retreat was in order.... it worked well.

And they're cute!

So your neighbors' kittens are still around, Moi? Maybe your family can learn on them about how to approach people and animals more gradually....

I've...never seen a coyote in real life. I know they're out in the countryside because my uncle's ex lived out there. She let me spend the night and she told me that if I heard scary noises - it was just coyotes.

I would NOT mess with a bear. Especially a mama bear.
But I don't think animals just instantly go after people if they don't feel threatened.
Not that they never do - animals do attack people .__.

You guys see that video of that chick yelling at a bear to go away?
She was yelling at it and pepper sprayed it and it turned around and started destroying her stuff.
Mind you, it wasn't doing that until she pepper sprayed it.
You pepper spray me and I'll destroy your shit too >Bu

Yeah, they had a mama cat and her three babies, but then the mama cat had three more babies and one of the other cats had three babies - so they have a lot of cats now.

Well, I tell my sister not to run up to the cats because they'll get scared.
Sometimes she listens and sometimes she doesn't.
I'm pretty good at reading people and animals.
We've had a lot of stray dogs running loose and I will watch them and see how they behave.
Not long ago, this dog was loose, but he belonged to one of the people on my block:

Me: -sees dog- Hmmm >>
Dog: 8P
Me: -walks into yard- Shoo >>
Dog: 8P -backs up-
Me: Mmk. -walks down sidewalk-
Dog: -trots behind me- 8P
Me: -stops- -turns- <<
Dog: -jumps backwards- 8,P
Me: Yeah, that's what I thought >> -keeps walking-

Also, I saw an Alberta license plate earlier.
I've NEVER seen a Canadian car down here.
It's pretty cool 8u
