That was pretty sweet of your ex. I have had similar experiences (that is, a misunderstanding of sorts) where people thought that just because I liked to read, it meant that I liked to read anything and everything. This is not the case. .__.

Psh, I think your art is fine. I really like the one drawn by your sister, though, admittedly. The curve of the face and the nose is quite lovely. You should drag her on this site and have her set up a shop so I can snag some art from her. >D

I feel the same way with my brothers --they aren't super artistic per se, but they've got the music in the family; they both love to sing and dance and play instruments. I am the one that has two left feet and can scarcely keep on key. XD;

Any titles you'd recommend? I haven't read either Holly Black or Kim Harrison. Megan Whalen Turner and Diana Wynne Jones have won me over at the moment, though when I was younger I adored Tamora Pierce and Robin McKinley. I also always have a soft spot in my heart for Cynthia Voigt.

Well, it was nice that those RPers kept up with you; from knowledge and experience, not many "elite" or even "moderate" RPers are very kind or patient with new writers.

I grew up with descriptive posts as well, and have only gathered art of my OC as a side interest. I still like to write out my OC's description as it helps me focus and understand them better, but art helps put my words into something more concrete.

Is "snippet" funny to you because it's generally used in reference to something short? I know there was another word I used to use, but it's left my mind. :X
