Ugh I instantly got a flash of Englishness because there are two ways and the American way is wrong, damnit. Though yeah, that really can't help when you're learning to pronounce stuff. J comes out with Americanisms all the time because of stuff he's seen on the TV. There are certain words I can't break him out of the habit of saying the American way even though I obnoxiously correct him every time XD

J has no excuse because he is as English as I am XD If anything he should know some Indian words or inflections but I don't even know what specific language his dad speaks because J picked up 0 words or information from him.

Yeah, the British way and the American way.... I'm still wondering which pronunciation of ''schedule'' is which, because #goldfishmemory :mcsweat:
I must say I'm not particularly fond of the British accent, I was raised on American stuff so I speak American English most of the time :mcargh:

@jacob: I wish I could help with determining J's dad's language but well, with no info I'm a horse XD Not to mention most of Indians are speaking like 2-3 languages, 1 for home, 1 for school, 1 for common stuff on the streets and authorities (I can think of Hindi, Tamil, English for just that one), so we probably mean the language he used back at home I suppose?
Do you know which part of India he is from? North or South?

My accent is British, I chose to learn it that way early on because of Harry Potter haha, and then in Uni you really had to choose and the one you chose was drilled into you the moment you did.

Your choice would be registered and from then on you better pronounce every word the right way for your choice or you were in trouble :'P

That uni of yours sounds a bit intense :mcgasp: did you study English as a major or was it like that even though it was just a "foreign language" class?
