Oh yeah we definitely still celebrate stuff related to how we used to be a British colony. But even though we are no longer a British colony and we’re our own country, our currency still has images of the British monarch AND our government still has a governor general who represents the current British monarch. Soooo yeah not quite separate yet lol.

Omg nooo. I’m glad I don’t have to deal with fireworks like that. Just the barking dogs are enough to annoy me lol.

I mean, if you have another country's governor in YOUR government, that says something :mcheh: Sure, it might be a little faux role in the government but still. If you're sovereign then another country shouldn't have a representative in your government.
Not to say the Polish government isn't a circus on wheels, recently they just said "Hey, EU laws are more important than our constitution, yes! :D", like wtf go to hell :mcmeh:

lol i dunno much about the government here since i don't pay much attention. i don't particularly mind that we still have some kind of monarchy here. Queen Elizabeth was such a bit character before her death and even though i didn't know her, i did feel sad she passed away. she was practically an immortal in the minds of canadians. xD

Canada is part of the British Commonwealth just like Australia. I find it interesting how in one way you are an independent country but in another still an active part of the 'once great' British Empire. :}

My cousin is serving in Guam with the US Navy. It's been a long time since I've looked into it but how do American territories work? (I live in America and I'm not really sure).

To me, as a European, American territories work like this: you see shit you like, you send your soldiers there to conquer, preferably under the cover of some "saving mission" or another lie. The US lives off of wars whether you like it or not. It's what all the colonizers did and Americans are mostly descendants of the colonizers.

But, you know, I don't know anything. It's just an opinion.
