I know such a small site isn't for everyone tho

There are so many smaller site's nowadays that are run by maybe five people tops, but I like those better than the too big ones like Gaia became. :}

Gaia got bloated
I left so long ago I don't want to think about how much worse it got

It got so bad at one point, that just logging in and walking around town with anything pre '12 would get you swarmed with people demanding you giving it to them 'Or they would get your account hacked'.
It sucked all the fun out of things. :}

Every time I went on towns it was dead

But when I was relatively new I got an PM that was a capslock threat of "give me all this irl info or your account will be blocked" legal name, address, username, password, likely other stuff that I didn't read
I was laughing. Why?
1. The PM was at least five hours past their deadline at that point, and here I was, reading it
2. We'd had an internet safety lesson at school that day. Extra bad timing!
I reported it and lo and behold, never heard so much as a peep from that person

When I first started a friend who'd already been on it for a while gifted me some things, wore those as I had nothing else and was accosted in towns as well by somebody claiming that because I was a newby it was illegal for me to own those items.

I think the only good thing that came out of Gaia for me was that I found KofK there. :}

The thing I liked most about Gaia was tektek
And then ownership changed and that guy had his head up his ass and got tektek removed via official cease and desist order

Didn't the guy who made Tektek make Recolor.me after that?

Recolor existed before then
It's just that when they gave him that he posted pics of it with an ad for recolor
Those of us who were members had fun refreshing and trying to find ourselves cuz those ads pulled our avis and ghosts for them

Their GD was an absolute cesspool tho
