You know, I think what you said is pretty valid.
Altho, I hate to admit it but I think the entire human race is pretty violent. We see something violent happen, an accident, or whatever, and we have this morbid fascination to just watch.

I think the same way France still has all his Colonies/territories. They just don't talk to much about having them so that people forget they exist. :}

I don't think the fascination with morbid things is necessarily a sign of our race being violent, I'd call it curiosity but who knows. Maybe everybody has different motives to try to get a glance.
For me it's the division of society, we hate one another, Pole to Pole, American to American. Over the tiniest, most insignificant shit. And the politicians feed that hatred for their own benefit. It's not about the common good of the people anymore, it's just about the money and power.

Oh, right, I totally forgot about France having colonies XD

One thing I never understood was Alaska. It literally hangs off the northern part of Canada, attached to one of the territories…yet it’s part of America. Lol

It's the same with Guam. Or Portico. Americans from those places get so much back lash because they're not part of the continental united states. Hawaii is actively being colonized as we speak, so that's sad.

So they colonized those poor bastards and then shit on them for not being on the mainland? people are stupid af.

I just think it’s all very confusing. Like Alaska is connected to Canada but why is it part of the US? Like there’s a huge swatch of ocean and the entirety of Canada separating it from the US. Lol

Alaska was originally Colonized by Russia, but both decided that was not a good idea. So America bought the Alaskan Territories from the Russian Empire. This happened in 1867. They sold it because they needed the money after losing the original Crimean war. :}

Ah I see. Altho just the fact that you can buy an entire state or island from someone/another country is mind boggling. Like going into the store and like “I’d like to purchase Alaska please and thank you!”

It's called politics. And politics is business but on even larger scale.
I wonder what the Alaskans wanted and if what was decided for them ended up in their favor. Or if they had some poll before the big transaction.
