Well, I don't know about Sebrights, but Silkies are actually very common chickens. Hence why they're probably cheap. May just depend on where you live though, since I've only seen either on the internet or tv, haha. I wouldn't mind having chickens, but I have no place to keep them.

The book series in question would have to be 'Dragon Riders of Pern,' and I think the 'Harper Hall' trilogy was the first book I read that in. I love Anna McCaffery's books, to bad she died recently. 
Her son has taken over the series, but his books have their own...style if you get my meaning. And even though there are dragons in the books, its actually a Science Fiction, not a Fantasy series.

Well Sebrights aren't exactly rare either here. They just only get sold on the other side of the country 
Silkies seem to be closer though.
I have a yard but it's not big, and it's my parents'. So I need to convince my parents to get a chicken coop. But I might just be going to far now. xD
I was never allowed to have birds, because my sister seemed to be allergic to them. And later I found out my mom was a little scared of them, too. Then back in March I was allowed to buy a canary, and ever since then... I want bigger birds, more birds. xD
Wallace and Sully made my mom get used to them but well you know what happened. I've always wanted a macaw too, and she's fine with that now too. I just can't find a good breeder and well, they're so expensive I don't know if I can make that right now. And now they have to allow me chickens, too? :') I believe I told you this twice before, but I really can't seem to like that series. ^_^;;

You know Merry, you just need to buy a house with a large conservatory for birds someday.
And someday I'll have a house with a yard(I currently live in a third-floor condo), so I can chickens and maybe a goat. ^^ I'm personally not a big fan of indoor birds myself, simply because like with rodent or fish, you constantly have to clean out their abodes. I prefer dogs, which you can take outside to do their business.

Yeah, I know, that's what I'd want. But I'm not even sure how I'm gonna take care of one parrot or other attention needing bird if I'm gonna succeed in airline career :(
I WANT A GOAT TOO.
But you know what? I actually wanna keep them all inside >>
I must also admit that I have a hard time keeping up with cleaning out abodes. Of rodents, of birds, and fish a little less - but that was because I had a big aquarium with a cleaning system. I just had to remove the algae every once in a while with a magnet. xD
I'm doing my best to please my canary as much as possible though...
Other than that I can take care of animals just fine. Food, fresh water, attention... I do my best. It's just the cleaning. xD
And the dogs... my parents walk them. ^_^;;
I am so lazy.
Do you have any other pets in your condo? Are you allowed to have them?

Oh, really? That would be really cool, especially if you did international flights, getting to travel all over the world. But yeah, I can see how it would be difficult to care for any kind of pet with that sort of job.
A goat indoors? xD I suppose it could be done.
Yes, we can have pets, we actually have a beta fish right now. But I can't really afford the kind of pet I really want(cat or dog). And dogs require a $200 deposit on top of everything you'd need to take care of it. @.@ But my friend has two cats that she can't keep at her apartment, and their current foster dad may be moving out of state soon, so I told her I could take care of them for her. :)

Yeah that's gonna suck to combine. I really hope for the international flights too! I mean, I wanna see the whole world, but I can't pay it, so it would be awesome to get paid to fly over the whole world. :p
And not only because of that. The longer the flight, the more beautiful the plane. ;D
But as far as pets are concerned... especially like a macaw... I just hope it'll work out >>
Yes, it can! I saw this little YouTube movie once of a goat jumping on a bed. I died with affection xD
It's just gonna be a trouble though... they eat... everything. >>

Fish are at least something... but not quite as exciting as a dog or cat or bird indeed. :p
So are those cats gonna stay with you permanently? :D
Or is it the care that's getting too expensive?

No, just a $200 deposit. It's fairly new too, so someone's dog must have destroyed property in one of the common areas or something. It's basically insurance for the condo association if something happens.
And honestly, I hate having the fish. It's my sister's, but she doesn't take proper care of it, and I'm too lazy and stubborn to bother. Plus, you can't cuddle fish. They're just sort of there. xD
And her cats would basically just stay at my place until my friend gets her own place. She lives with her mother right now, and their landlord hates cats. She pays for the little and food and everything, so I'd just have to love and feed and clean up after them. ^^
