It's a shame that places like Camden and Covent Garden have become so commercial in the last 10 years...

London is pretty expensive.

Having said that, my friend from japan is currently here, and I'm planning to go with her to Camden at some point, so maybe we could coordinate and meet up. Even if we don't spend the day together, it would be fun to meet!

The hostel we're staying in is actually right next to Camden so that's handy for us.

And the last time I went to Camden town was right before the fire happened. It was getting commercial, but not as much as it is now I've heard...

And Covent garden is mostly on the schedule for the build-a-bear workshop, a nearby ballet store and the Disney and Moomin stores...
All three of us are godmother to a young child or baby so we decided to each get a little something for them there...

Oh yeah, the moomin store is super cute. I end up going to all of those stores because everyone always knows children ^_^
I think the fire in camden really worked to accelerate the commercialisation, but I guess that kind of thing just happens. These days I prefer places like Brighton. brighton is nice :3

what's brighton like?

It's a lovely coastal city with a rock beach. I liked that when I was there there were a lot of street performers and artists. I bought some lovely drawings there...
It's very lively without being overly busy (though I'm not sure what it's like in peak season) and there's a small 'amusement park' on a pier in the sea. It's pretty cool to see.

It also has lots of colourful houses, and many little cute independent shop. Also happens to be the gayest town in England. I just really like the vibe.
