Now that I think about it, isn't it awkward wielding a sword without a cross guard? I mean, what if you block the attack wrong and end up getting your fingers sliced off? ^^;

Very true, and as long as he's good at deflecting attacks he should be fine, but I think Kieran has a bit of an advantage over him because of that. ^^;

Well, there is a tiny bit of a hilt. Just not a full hand-protecting type, so it probably wouldn't slide down and chop off his fingers.
Maybe it's just a sign of how confident Sigsworth is about his swordsmanship.
