LOL, my eyes skimmed Kit's last name and I thought I had made the post for some reason. It confused me for a second there because it wasn't my writing style.

Dude, I love Thanksgiving, and I would've loved being born near it. I would just request for people to give me their portion of potatoes and turkey for my gift because Thanksgiving food is my favorite.

HAHA xD

Tbh... you're so right. I love mashed potato and I tried making it from the instant mix... needless to say I got sad from it and threw it away;;;; As much as I hate to throw food, it was just so bad orz

That is sad. We use both kinds (instant and from scratch) depending on who's cooking. If we leave it to one of my buddies, he'll even make his own gravy. It's delicious.

We do both. Usually instant, but we're also mixing something else in. Like mom will add sour cream and/or cheese to hers. Dad does sour cream and gravy. I do gravy, corn, and the meat for a soup with a mashed potato broth LOL
If there's noodles that'll be mixed in too but the two aren't usually made together here

But if we do homemade, you still find chunks of diced potato mixed in. Yum

It's one thing to use if you don't have milk, or not enough

I had milk, but I don't know. That mix was really weird tasting. I'm not even sure if it was the mix or just my bad cooking skills (somehow).

Dude, I'm looking forward to my Thanksgiving dinner. XD It's this Friday (a week early).

Do you guys prefer lumpy mashed potatoes, or smooth?

My family doesn't celebrate Thanksgiving... or any holiday for that matter (except Christmas/Easter/etc. at church). But I looove Thanksgiving food. It's smooth mashed potatoes for me all the way!!!

My family does, but it's not always consistent for Thanksgiving. There's always a Christmas thing, though, and sometimes New Years.
