I have a slight sun allergie, not enough to get me ill through normal heat but the sun once it goes over 25 just does it and yes it makes me physically ill.
(Not enough to have avoid-the-sun-vacation paid for by my health insurance though) :}

Goodness that's scary. I don't know what I'd do if I were allergic to something like the sun. :(

There is a condition *googles* Xeroderma pigmentosum, it's pretty severe though. I only know about it because of some movie I once watched as a kid/preteen/teen and I have no idea what that movie was or anything. I guess I remembered the condition because I was already fascinated with vampires at the time. They might've mentioned that XP was probably the inspiration for the legend that vampires are unable to be in the sun. Or something. Don't quote me on that, haha.

*went on a googling spree*
Less severe is photodermatosis. At least I think it is less severe, Idk, I didn't read that much about it, was just curious as to what the sun allergy is called.

I only get an itchy, bumpy rash when my bare skin is exposed to intense sunlight for too long. And headaches, and nausea. I've always had that with the sun. Idk why. But that's probably why I avoided it for the majority of my life. My eyes are super sensitive to sunlight too, what's normal light for most people hurts my eyes and I often squint even when it's cloudy because it's still too bright for me. I think it might be just because I'm a highly sensitive person and it's probably one of the few physical symptoms I get.

I am allergic to wasps. If I get stung on like my arm my whole arm blows up. Last time I got stung my whole leg and foot swole up but that's nothing compared to being allergic to the actual sun.

I once read something about this little girl who was allergic to water. Like having an allergy like that, especially for a child, like their skin can’t touch water or it’ll develop painful rashes and such.

Imagine being allergic to these. They're essential for humans for crying out loud. Okay, vitamin D you can supplement. But water? How do you bathe? What do you drink? Are additives enough to let you drink anything? Wth

From what I read later, they can drink water since it’s mainly an external condition altho really severe cases you might get gastric problems so they have to limit consumption. Being allergic to water sometimes even means your own sweat and tears. Instead of baths, they have to use alcohol wipes. Going outside, ppl with water allergies had to be completely bundled up bc water from weather conditions would also affect them.
