Ah. No worries. That's pretty hard core! Do you actually conduct a study? you know I'd say for english it'd be more like "ei" vs "ie", "sh" vs "c" vs "t" and other graphemes standing for the same phonemes
oh that's exactly what my advisor was telling me: "you don't have to move the linguistics forward" XD when I found a topic I was told to save it for later when I actually have time to spend 2 months just looking for material XD so for bachelor you really only have to give an overview of literature but you do have to state the problem. so your topic should not be "what a, b, c, d wrote about x" but rather "how x can be solved with theories of a, b, c, d". so you do analyse a problem but you don't develop a solution

Oh, that makes sense! But it feels like it's something that'd be troubling mostly for English speakers since its alphabet is more arbitrary from it's long history of borrowing from other languages than other languages with less contamination from other languages.
Which topic is that?
I really didn't have to do any problem solving or problem stating since it really wasn't a problem I was looking at; I was looking at the phenomenon of a dialect of Korean turning slightly tonal to distinguish the tense stops from the other stops. So I looked at various studies on how people tested for it, whether they were able to pinpoint which generation started this evolution, what the proposed theory is on why this was happening, and hypotheses on what will happen to that dialect and the rest of the dialects in the future.
I really want to look more into stops in Korean and Japanese. My family is adamant that Japanese doesn't have any voiceless stops... but Korean doesn't have any voiced stops as you probably know. I mean, they get voiced between voiced phonemes but that's assimilation. So I want to look more into it and see because that's not something I've ever heard being mentioned in a Linguistics circle, and I'm sure it'd be mentioned more often if it were true. I mean, the fact that Korean doesn't have any voiced stop gets mentioned in all lower division phonology classes for Korean being unique, so if the opposite is true for Japanese, why wouldn't anyone mention it? If I could find some spectrograms of Japanese and Korean words with stops, that would be fantastic.
