Yea in that case I would be really straightforward- maybe she's just forgetful or thinks since you don't ask rightaway that you don't have a need for it rightaway.

I'm sure she wouldn't be offended if you asked her ahead of time if it would be possible for you to be paid earlier than usual since you need the money for something.
