Did anyone do anything for Valentines day? I'm doing something with my partner tomorrow, dunno what though. We haven't decided yet.

Just my usual everyday thing

Vday is just another day for me

I made a couple of cakes to share with the family.
Poppyseed cake with a thick vanilla cream filling, and a flourless hazelnut chocolate cake with creme-de-cacao-icing, and a dark-chocolate-fudge-cake-with-milk-chocolate-chips. There was peanut-butter-frosting to go on that if anyone wanted, and a lemon glaze for the poppyseed cake.

That's about it, though.

Side note: roasting hazelnuts isn't too bad but trying to get all of that outer covering off of them takes forever and makes a mess! Probably not going to do that one again unless I can get people to agree that raw/with papery-brown-bit is okay.

My family car is a fairly large one which I have such anxiety driving although the gears are really smooth so the driving is comfortable.

There's something wrong with me though cause I can easily parallel park or three point turn but merging gives me the damn shits.

I find merging difficult when its busy, otherwise people generally just get out of your way. 3 point turns are easy ... So I don't really get when people struggle with it And I am on and off with parallel parking DX

Valentines day I went out to an 'all you can eat' place! We got our table upgraded to a special valentines day table (fancy tablecloth and candles with other small decorations).
The day before, (the 13th) was our 4 year anniversary and I was planning a day out at the beach, but then my bf had to go to uni so we chilled out at my place XD
We made cookies, but it wasn't romantic or anything cause my dad took it upon himself to help (I don't have the heart to tell him that I don't need his help in these situations as he is just a kind man), and then my sisters and mum was around and gosh I wished we were alone, but it was still fun!

Oh wow that sounds delectable Akili *u* You must be great at baking. Whenever I bake, my cupcakes always taste so dry. I'm not very skilled nor patient ;~;

The problem as an L plater is that no one wants to let you merge in front of them so they all speed up when you indicate 8U FFFFFFFFFF. Majority in my area drive like ass holes. They're mostly P platers with beefed up cars and incredibly large egos. I almost got hit by a taxi driver who didn't stop at a stop sign. Idk where he was looking but he kept going straight with the intention of ramming into the side of my vehicle >_> I have the tendency to panic drive, so that's where I mess up. I can't angle park and I'm not very good at parking in the between lines at the shopping centre.

My partner and I decided on going to high tea at the qvb :D:D We had high tea at the tea salon last year so I guess this may become a tradition. High tea at The Cortile looks so swanky but it's like $60 pp and I don't even drink champagne.

I found myself gain confidence when I got my P plates.
And it took me and my sister 3 years to get our Ps so there really is no rush, just take your time. Why not drive in areas which aren't busy (and try to stay out of areas which have high traffic). Yeah, I find Taxi drivers are really crappy drivers DX No wonder why Uber is taking them down ugh I mean ....... It's true and no one can deny it !

And all I can say is practice what you know you need to work on, and you just need to continuously need to practice and gain experience.
And I shall pass on what my father always said to me, "drive for the other driver".
(As in watch other drivers, know your surroundings, as if something were to happen you know that there is a space next to you etc, so you can plan ahead!)

L and P plates what

Okay, so L plates are what we are on when we are learning how to drive.
L for learner, and to get them you have to pass a test about the road rules!

To move on to our P plates (probationary) we need to pass a test and do 120 hours of driving (with minimum of 10 hours in the dark).

The P plates are separated in two colours; red, then green.
This is basically to let other drivers know that we are still pretty new to driving and there are tougher rules for us to follow whilst on our red P.
So the red Ps are first, and we have them for a year (regardless if we drive or not), we can only have 1 other person in the car, but you can have as many people in the car if it is family. (And apparently if you have someone with a full licence sitting in the front seat you can have a full car too???)

The green Ps you have for 2 or 3 (need to double check) years and it (as far as I know) has the same rules as a full licence car. (I do not know much information about it as I am not up to it yet!!)
