You are going to get to rank 8 first (cuz you need about 30 more splashes to get the 5k and only 9 more to grow in rank) and get the boy and shortly after you are going to get the 5k and buy the girl with it. Problem solved!

I'm on 4590 points and a loooooong way to go till level 10 to get the girl, so I'm probably buying her and save up for an extras boy once I reach level 10

I am at 7 (539 / 601). Not too bad. I am surprised that I am doing that well.

I was hitting the 1's but then went to a 10

I have enough to buy the girl, but right now I feel pretty optimistic about reaching rank 10, so I'm waiting a bit to think about what I want extras of maybe.
