For those who can't find any: Just flip through pages of a really large thread and they'll come like crazy. ^^
It's tedious work, but you'll have your sunrays. :)

Please don't post such things in announcements. You can discuss this in other forums, like for example the Chat forum.
I read every post made in the announcements in case someone encounters technical problems or other difficulties with the event and having such posts in the announcement is making this very time-consuming for me.

I really hate these type of events... there fine if you have lots of time to spare but imposible for the working class. in 3 days Ive gotten 1 sun! and there are so many nice items this time too!!

Azurye, it's true that these types of events are time consuming, but there have been two other events just this summer that didn't follow this sort of formula. It's impossible to please everyone for each portion of the event, so I think Firn's response to that was to make separate events for each type of activity Firn could think of for us to do, that way, hopefully everyone will be happy with at least one portion of the event.
I'm in the same boat as you, and I'm quite busy this summer. But I've been able to get all the quiz questions correctly, and I was able to dig and get the digging event items, too. Though this event is hard for me, I like that there isn't a maximum amount of event currency I'm limited to like as in the quiz, and that there isn't a requirement for user to have Knuffel to participate, which opens it up to everyone, including newbies who haven't had the chance to get Knuffel yet.
With this much variety of events, I'm sure if you had been able to participate in other portions of event, you could find someone to trade you this event items for the other event items, or sell your excess and buy the event items yourself.

I have a short question: Is it normal to get more random fairies than sunrays? o.O I have clicked through 400 pages of an hangout and got 7 rays but 11 fairies. Are the odds for both equal?
Edit: up to 550 pages and 8 rays but 15 random fairies... I thought the sunrays were mare common than the fairy?

Asa: It seems that you are rather unlucky with the sunrays, but lucky with the fairies then, because, yes, sunrays are WAY more common than fairies.
