CRAP CRAP CRAP CRAP!!! >< Fiiiirn!! I need to ask you a question!!
Okay, I drew this avatar for the contest and outlined it with black in, but I guess I wasn't paying attention, and, well...the color scheme is brown and red, with brown being the majority, and I...kinda sorta got things mixed up in my head by accident and kind of colored one item in with the red when it was supposed to be brown, and vice versa! >< And I don't have a program other than paint on my computer if I wanted to change it, and I colored it in with color pencil so I can't really fix it...do I need to completely redraw the entire thing, or can I just maybe submit it the way it is and submit another avatar with it with just that one item on it with the correction on it? Cause it's not a very big item, it's a border, so it wouldn't be hard to draw it around another avatar.
>< Please let me know. I feel so stupid TT-TT The sad part is, it looks prettier with the messed up color version I did! XD Oh well, what can you do? *shrugs*
If you need me to scan the picture in and show it to you for a better opinion on the matter, I can do so ^^ Just please let me know. Thanks so much, Firn! I know you're really busy with real life and the contest on here and the website in general, so I really appreciate it when you answer my questions :) You're the bestestestestest!!! lol XD

Sorry, but I need the set all in the same color. Otherwise it would be unfair to the other people in the contest. (Even if I have the "correct" item somewhere, in the voting users will vote on that one image and that would be unfair to the others who would have to stick to one color sheme and it would upset users who got their entries rejected due to that reason Maybe you can just draw the one item separately, scan it too and paste that area over the original? I think paint should be able to do that.

Okay :) Also, we are allowed to have 2 colors on the avatars, right? The 'main' color and then an accent, right? Cause if not then I misunderstood something lol

You can have as many colors as you like, as long as the biggest part of each item is colored in the same color.

O.o I didn't know that >< Darn it!! lol I have a LOT of redrawing to do!! XD Cause there are small items on my avatars, just little accent pieces you know, and I didn't know we could use multiple colors like that! XD I thought just 2! lol I'm such a dummy. But, it's okay. I'll just do a LOT of tracing and recoloring ^^
Also, another quick question, sorry there are so many, but is it okay if, for our items for the contest (if we were to win that is) if we go ahead and pick out some other color schemes that would go well with the items than just the ones we used to color them with? I figured I would to help save you some time and all later on if one of my items were to win, but that's a really big if! lol I have a feeling a ton of people are entering. I've already come up with 4 different themes for items! :D lol So Ima have 4 different entries...but that number may grow...not sure yet, but Ima do what you said and scan them all in at the same time and send them all to you in one message :)

I think all is already explained in the first posts, but because I just had to go through a very frustrating round of rejecting 75% off all entries we got so far I would like to summarize the most common mistakes, so maybe some people will read this and avoid such mistakes in the future.
Please keep in mind that this is in YOUR interest, because otherwise you are the one wasting time working on items that might get rejected;
- MALE AND FEMALE VERSION FOR ITEMS.
Most items on KOfK are unisex, meaning they fit on the male base as well as the female base. Some don't and this is pretty much limited to shirts and undershirts as well as long gloves or armwarmers. If you draw such an item you must provide me a version on the MALE and FEMALE base. Do not draw two completely different items!!!!
- LAYERING ISSUES
I already thought this would be the biggest problem and so it is. PLEASE try to imagine your item on multiple other items. Sometimes people send me images pasting their items on existing KOfK items to show me how they think it works. But just because your items works with some other items, it does not mean they work with all, or even the majority of other items. A common mistake so far are for example overshirts or any other kind of item going over the shirt that is not just a brooch. They are tricky items as most of them will only work on very tight shirts. (Take a look at the "overshirts" we have so far. They are always things that can be pasted right over the shirt, not merging together with the shape of any shirt in any way) As soon as you have items with great collars (Vampire Garment for example) or long sleeves (Yukatas for example), they merge into the other items and look like a hot mess. Other very tricky items are hats. Hats that cover all of the head are close to impossible. They might look decent with some short hairstyle, but as soon as you have bigger hair it turns into a hot mess. Other items that are basically impossible are things like belts, shoulder bags (impossible to layer, really), earrings that cover the ears (messing up with all equitable ears as they have a different shape) , gloves or armwarmers that are not skin-tight, etc.
I realize some of you are trying to be original, "inventing" items of kinds we do not have on KOfK yet. But there usually is a reason why we do not have these items! If an item is drawn in a way where I think "Okay, if I alter this, it might work", I might still accept it, but some items are just hopeless.
Try to stick to "safe" items.
- SAME MAIN COLOR
I did not think this would be any kind of problem, because it seemed like an easy rule to follow. Items on KOfK have names like "Shirt (Blue)". The Treasure Trove was build by starkad in a way where sets must have the same name. This means you cannot draw blond hair and have a green shirt, because both the hair and the shirt will be called (green). Your items do not need to have one color only, but in each item of a set, the BIGGEST part of the item must be colored in the same color as the rest of the set.
Also, please do not draw anything else on your submission. No numbers, no name, no additional items, no background. It just means I have to either reject your submission, or spend time cutting out the stuff.

a question to earrings covering the ears
I am not sure I understand this, so I'd like to make sure
Doughnight 09 Earrings; Bone Earrings; Halloween '10 Earrings; Permelia Earrings; Springchild Earrings; Verpackungs Ribbon Earrings; and some others cover the lover part of the ear at some rate. some cover 1/4 or 1/3 of the ear, or at least it looks like this to me. are earrings covering approximately the same area acceptable for the contest?
I understand that earrings with only one dot covering the lobe of the ear, like Winter '12 Earrings, are perfect, but thought I'd ask about bigger designes that are also not just under the ear, like Big Cherry Earrings
so, how much is it ok to cover? I hope my question is not annoying or anything

I mean such earrings:
This is what does not work. They follow the shape of normal ears, but will not work as soon as you put on any other kind of ears.
(The armthings would not work too by the way, but I could alter them to be skin-fitting to work)
