Has anyone tried out the new gyms?? I've got 2 Pokemon assigned to gyms, but I haven't done any battling. I'm not a high enough level for raids since you have to be level 35 and I'm only 33.

Whats a raid? Im only a lvl 21 so itd be a while until I did one anyways.
I havent tried out the new gyms but now Im really excited and I have only one gym around my place thats my team xD All the rest is team valor xp ugh. So I might try to attack at one and see how it is for the first time xD And I might go assign a pokemon at that only gym of mine.~ lol

I'm only level 21 as well so I haven't messed with the gyms yet.

I only played when it was the huge fad, but it killed my phone too much.
I think its still cool how dedicated the smaller playerbase is now tho .

They have dropped the level required to participate in a raid battle to level 25!
I have now participated in 2 raid battles. To do a raid battle you need a raid pass which you can get at a gym. Just tap the gym and look for the little icon in the lower right corner of your screen. If you tap that it should let you spin the gym's photo disc and you should be able to get 1 raid pass each day. Each free pass is only good for 1 raid battle, and it expires in 24 hours. You can buy additional passes in the shop for 100 coins (I've heard that they're good for multiple battles but I don't know for sure).
Raid battles are random and they seem to be pretty common from what I've seen. You should get a notification at the top of your game screen when there is a raid battle near you. The gym will have an egg on top of it. Pink eggs are level 1-2, yellow eggs are level 3-4. Supposedly there are blue eggs too which are level 5. Any team's members can participate in a raid battle if your level is high enough. I did a level 1 raid by myself with no problems, and a level 2 raid with 1 other player. I've heard that level 3 and 4 raids are pretty difficult and you need multiple players to beat the boss.
When you win the battle you have a chance to catch the raid boss (at a significantly lower CP) with premier balls that you win in the raid. My level 1 raid boss was a Qwilava, and the level 2 boss was a Muk. Level 4 bosses are Lapras and Tyranitar (plus others). It's a good way to get good IV Pokemon or Pokemon that you're missing.

Well hopefully I can level up fast enough so I can get in on the action! xD I figured out about the raids when I tried to go to one and read up on it but you helped me out a lot with the levels and all that.
One thing I didnt know(because I ever battled before and all that)
but I had one of my pokemon defend a gym(my baby was in there for about 8hrs and I was surprised he lasted that long but I got 49 coins from it. That would help out ao much because I dont want to spend money on this game if I dont have too.
But Ive battled once and won. c: That was my first time and I was so excited xD lol I really like how the gyms are now. My gf promised we could go out today, she better go through with that promise.

We got a break in the heat this weekend. It's been fabulous! Too bad I haven't had the energy to go do anything.
