Grew up on a tight budget as well, so there is always that small voice in the back of my mind going 'Do you really need it?'.

Got a lot of fandom things over the last year though. But I'm blaming that on my depression. :}

Right? That's a good thing though, at least I consider it to be one :3

I've always been a terrible scrooge, but I found out that sitting on my money does not make me happy at all. I never will be able to spend it 'just like that', but I don't want to, either - but I am very glad that nowadays I'm able to spend it on things that do make me happy.

Funnily enough I discovered the same for me here in Ireland.
It is super expensive here (at least in comparison with Germany/the cities I know), but it is no good thinking about how much money one spends all the time instead of just living the moment with your friends.
So I still go out, I still get a coffee for takeaway, although it is rather expensive, but I do it because I enjoy it. :)
But of course I keep my general funding in mind ;D

I also realized that travelling makes me very happen, even if I travel only by myself. So I want to "invest" money in myself being happy, so I want to travel more :)

Word. Especially that last part!
In my opinion, there's no better cause for your money than developing yourself by traveling.

Spending money on things that make you happy is the best reason to spend money. :}

Oh I'm glad it taught me that lesson because I have bought some items in the past and regret it a bit..

We've all done that, it's a part of growing up. :}

Definitely, the money is SO worth it!

And yes it is part of growing up to make mistakes, some mistakes hurt more than others, but I think we all can live with the money mistakes.

I really want to spend every free minute with travelling or gaining knowledge as this is how I am happy and feel useful :D
