Way too many i want to follow on Tapas are
1. Pay to read
2. Similar plot

So that makes a lot easily skippable
74 on Tapas, I know one is finished but is pay to read and I've got an active one that I'm prioritizing, another 6 that haven't updated since last year, 27 with a latest update of October (which has another pay to read that must be on break), and then the rest are November updated on

Webtoons is a lot less
24 total
One is by someone I know but they lost their account (they're good at forgetting accounts)
7 are finished (one because the author no longer has time to make comics)
One is a companion to another (it got a reboot and they did the reboot on a new one)
4 are on break
2 more are still technically on break, but have recently had an update posted
The rest are active

And then there's the standalone ones
Awkward Zombie
Sister Claire, which the authors are definitely burnt out but for some reason insist on keeping the comic running
Devil's Candy, on break for the rest of the year
Kill 6 Billion Demons
Gunnerkrigg Court
Awaken
Daughter of the Lilies, returned after over a year due to contract
Suihira
Blindspings, which returns next year (YAY)

So over 100 total

Oh my god liking something and then having the writer go on permanent hiatus is my nightmare. I've had to drop so many manga and fanfic for that reason alone.

Oh i hate stuff being dropped. And then not knowing it got dropped because, if you’re like me, you forget you were even following the series. XD;; and then one day, you see again or something and you go “i wonder what happened to this series?”

I was sad when i heard the author/artist of Solo Levelling (manhua/manhwa) passed away. QnQ they were the main artist/illustrator and also the founder (co-founder?) of the company that produced the manhua/manhwa/webtoon, Redice.

Dropped fanfics are the absolute worst, especially when you have no idea WHY. Did the author die? Forget their credentials? Lose interest? WHY.

There are so many fanfics that I started reading in fucking high school that I fell in love with, and when I got to the end of the published chapters I was like NO, WE'RE AT THE BEST PART, WHY. COME BACK, PLEASE. And then you stumble upon it years later just to have the same reaction, lmao.

The ones that are like "oh, we're doing a reboot, check the reboot at [link]" and that's ongoing are nice tho

Oh i rarely get those. XD;; if i don’t get a notification in my email about a new chapter because i was subscribed to it, i’d never know if a fic was discontinued or ongoing or not. XD;;
