i think it would be easiest for him to either fall into the crowd at the Arbat Confederation or the Orange Line. He could possibly be able to join the Red Line if he professed the same ideology. He could start working at the farms or plantations, too.
He would have a very hard time getting into the VDNKh, the Fourth Reich or the Hansa.

I imagine him being a part of either the Red Line (not because of ideology, simply because it sounds like they would accept him and exploit his not knowing anything by making him work for little more than nothing), the Arbat Confederation (because he originally wandered in from the surface, so it would make sense for some stalker from Arbat to find him and bring him back), or the Orange Line (since it sounds like a place wandering misfits would gather).
I think I can make a story work regardless of where he joins... stressing on the "I think" part, though P:

i just gave my opinion where it would be easiest for him to blend in, since you asked. ;P
just remember that the people in the metro would be pretty suspicious of anything from the surface, even a human. at least at first.

the castes are only in the polis, so unless you're from there you don't have to worry about that. xD

My character is a girl named Laura ;P

She's 21 years old and she basically looks like X23 from x-men, if you know her? :P

She isn't a spoiled brat in the sense of money but she has a huge family that all treat her like she's perfect and like she can't do anything wrong, so she definitely has high standards and is used to getting what she wants.
She's really emotional and a terrible liar cause her emotions can be read off her face easily.
