Same here, which is why I didn't like most of the girl on my floor my last year of college. Not to mention their parents bought them all car as presents and stuff, and where I'm from that's spoiling them since I got my mom's old car when she got a new one.

Where as my mother likes to junk the old cars after promising me she'd let me have it when I get my license(another fight she and I have a lot) and then tells me she'll help me find a used car later on, like that will give me more of a reason to bother anymore when her idea of helping me to learn is sticking me with the one person I refuse to learn from because they like going and purposely driving the car through the biggest snowbanks they can. Not to mention their idea of teaching is to put you in snow to learn to drive as though that's going to give you any confidence as a driver when your too scared of wrecking to be able to drive because of their actions.

Anyways, I was always too weird for the in crowd too, plus with my cousin being in crowd and her not being too fond of me, it made my chances of ever being accepted by most people very low.

lol....birds of a feather....we're our own "in" crowd now :mctongue:

my mom took me out driving once when i was 17...for an hour. she swore she'd never teach me again. so therefore, i've never learned how to drive even to this day. but i do understand that whole "graduate and get a car" thing. a lot of kids in my high school got cars for graduation. me, on the other hand, i got a card from my mom saying "congrats knew you could do it" and a card from my aunt in new mexico, who i only met once, that said "congrats" and had a $50 bill in it. the aunt that lived right across the street from us, didn't even bother to show up or say anything to me. didn't get anything from my "dad" until 4 years later when he showed up to visit my sister and heard i was getting married. he gave me his camera. nothing fancy, but yeh =/ the rest of my family, brothers/sisters/etc could have cared less as i heard nothing from them, not even a congrats. i never excepted anything, mind you, but idk...seems odd i guess. maybe it's just me....

oh, and for the record, i don't think any of my sisters/brothers got cars when they graduated. wasn't our family's thing LOL! plus it was the 80s when the sister and brother graduated. my other sister and brother quit and then went back for their GEDs years later.

Everyone on my dad's side graduated and got a degree in something at least, none of us dropped out of school. On my real mom's side the only one to go to college was my real mother and only years later when she moved back to Arizona when I was in high school.

I was never able to get into the in crowd when I was a kid because I had very big differences in interests than the girls in my class when I was little, and how...things were done with raising me when my real mother had custody of us. And its stuck with me since. *shrugs*

My dad paid for me and my brother to have someone else teach us, people who do it for a living, this way when he did take us it was just to make sure we did things correctly. XD I only messed up one time on my test for my license, and that's when I was parallel parking and bumped my wheel against the curb. I can parallel park, but I hate being boxed in like sardines, which is weird because any other time I'm good with small spaces. o.O

But its really weird, I don't mind being cramped in a car with hardly any wiggle room, but put me in a vehicle and tell me to park anywhere crowded and I start freaking out. o.o;
