I almost wish no one had told me about cupcakes and apples.... >.<
It's so tempting to get them, instead of more knuffels! D:

Eh, I'm not fond of this months items.
But I didn't know how last months items worked and missed out x.x

Er? You can still get cupcakes and apples!
Just go to the Living Whatever-it-is ----the shop that sells Knuffel room items-
and filter for "Functional".

There's a cupcake, an apple, and a washbasin you can get for food points. And a lava lamp and a... I think cat? I forget... for fairy coins.
The lava lamp seems the best of the lot, but it costs a fairy coin, so...
But the cupcake and apple each give happiness or energy per hour, WITH the xp that comes along with that, so if you put them both on the same knuffel it comes to be the same as half a lava lamp an hour!
Plus the benefit of playing/feeding while you're asleep or whatever, so when you come back later they don't look all pitiful and starving.




I just looked up the November announcement -the November cupcakes were NOT functional; so you didn't miss anything.

I thought you were talking about the monthly items, the candy apple held item, etc.

Ugh that fountain is so pretty but so pricey!

Yeah, that fountain isn't going to be tempting to me until I have a level 100 water knuffel. So I'm not worrying about it, for now.
(Plus I'd want other high-level water knuffels for the chances at regular water materials!)
And it'd work better if I could get a cat and put it on the same knuffel as had the water fountain, to take best advantage of it...


And before I'd EVER get the cat, I'd get a lava lamp!

You're right though, not sure I want to spend FP on them right now. But thanks for letting me know they were there!

I can't help thinking, though, that it's the perfect way to "bank" food points.

You get a regular knuffel, you put on the cupcake and the apple, and you hide it, and you forget about it.
Maybe you do it a few more times, as you get the food points.

Then, in a month or... I need to do some math. Hang on. 35 points an hour times 24 hours a day is 840xp a day, there's 50k xp needed to reach lvl 100 so that's a little less than 60 days.
Okay, so two months.

In two months, you go back to that knuffel, you go to its main page, and it will level up 100 times -so 10k food points.
Then you take off the cupcake and the apple, release the knuffel for ANOTHER 10k food points (plus making someone or another very happy!)
You now have 20k food points you didn't really have to do anything to get....

and you can get another regular knuffel and re-use the same apple-cupcake set.



So.

You know.


It's AWFULLY tempting! (Like buying a 2-month CD for 5k food points, that pays out 20k food points. And you can even cash it in early for the full amount, if you go and dig every day!)

Apple... cupcake? :D

Oooh, I forgot, it's better than a 5k CD because 3.1k of that is a permanent reusable investment, so after the first time you're only putting in 1.9k food points every time!

And really, digging every day with them should speed that up considerably. Especially if you put all the points in some other element and always dig in that different element.
(I have been doing an experiment with that with an Air knuffel I named Storm who has put ALL her skill points into "light" and always digs there. Whenever she finds something -besides the keys- she gets a very very very nice chunk of xp, and every level she's got she's getting more and more of those...)

Not even counting the value of whatever materials you find. You could probably count on getting it done in 45 or 50 days, not 60. Plus if they stack with daycares....
I've gotten a fair few daycare coupons as random-reward moving around the forums. If you actually stack daycare on top of this....


Aggggh, it's SO. TEMPTING.




PLUS if you can get hold of a lava lamp? Then, as a BASE RATE not even counting digging it takes a little under 20 days! That's it! And you can do it again after that!!


Okay that's it.

I simply *must* get my hands on a lava lamp. And I'm getting another apple-cupcake set...
