Oh sorry for the loss, but you have to purchase it within the trial time, otherwise it will get gone for good.

You cannot start over with a trial one (you get only one), but you can buy them just like the regular ones now and they will stay forever ... well if you don't chose to give them up for adoption anytime.

Ah I see. I didn't realize that it was something that had to be completed before the end of the trial period. I thought it was a popup or something that would happen when the time was up. So...during the trial period do you just go to the shop and buy the same Knuffel and that makes it permanent? I saw the adoption option but thought it would just purchase a second one of the same kind.

In the big scheme of things its truly not a big deal...just irritated at myself that I misunderstood and lost her. She's a really beautifully created Knuffel and I love all of her evolutions, so I'll go buy another.

There was a button on the trial knuffel that you had, saying "purchase this knuffel". Going to Knuffeltropolis to purchase the same type of trial knuffel would have gotten you a second knuffel of that type, permanent purchase, starting over at lvl 1, and not affected your trial knuffel at all.

Hm, maybe you and a bunch of us could all make a "Newcomer's Guide To KofK" and write all this out so it's clear.

A newbie guide would be a good idea. But it would be better if you could access it through the knuffeltropolis shop.
There are a lot of good guides out there that are really hard to find even though they have the best tips. :}
