Oh hey you're on, Lady River! (briefly, I guess you're leaving, but...) I wanted to ask you, if you'd read the "Rivers of London" series by Ben Aaronovitch and if that's where your username came from?

(Also, aren't lava lamps great?)

It's from doctor who. River Song.

I used the name River in pokemon x/y and the npc friend gave my person a nickname and one I liked out of the choices was lady river

so it stuck.

Yay for people to chat with.
Aw, all the top hats for Nick. One for Blue too.

I'm gonna have to take a minute to charge my computer though. And to eat. I'm super hungry.

I'm not as familiar with Dr. Who... but I know the River from Firefly! I guess there are a lot of famous Rivers about.
It's a fun name. :)

Have a good meal, Light, and I hope your computer charges fast. :)

Tora, it's a British mystery series, with fantasy elements.
The protagonist is a London constable; his mum is from Sierra Leone and didn't lose contact with her family or culture, and his father was a war baby who became a jazz musician, so the books are full of lots of fun details from all sorts of sources. The first book delves into the oddities behind some of the weirder cases, and each book that passes draws Peter Grant further into the hidden politics of how magic intersects with modern London society. The Rivers of London are all and each actual characters, and I won't tell more for fear of spoilers.

I've never played a lot of console games, but I have a great love for all the art and story I've seen of Zelda.

@Akili that sounds super interesting :mcshock: i'm actually dying to get into some new mystery series. i finished everything written by agatha christie ever, and that was my go-to comfort reading, so now i'm left not knowing where to turn for some cozy mysteries. i keep wanting something similar to christie which isn't fair to other mystery writers, i know; i should take them as themselves as distinct from christie but christie just SUITED ME SO WELL :mccry:
i tried ngaio marsh which i thought would be as close as i could get to christie tho, and nope. i'm not feeling it :mcheh: do you have any recs?
