A lot of the connections you actually miss in the animes because they only appear in the manga.

It's mostly a Clamp thing, isn't it? They like to connect their stories 
Like how Holic is also connected to Rayearth which is mentioned in Angelic Layer which is followed by Chobits.

Yeah, there's just WAY to many connections for me to want to read it. x'D Because you actually miss parts of the story if you don't read the others.

I think most CLAMP things are connected.
but for other animes.. I don't think as connected as CLAMP things.
like gundam, a lot of the gundam anime series are not connected at all. Just brand new world, new series, new characters.

Yeah, from what I saw of the Gundam series its not connected. And its kind of the same with Transformers, though I haven't watched any of the newer ones so I'm not sure. x'D
