I'm used to the super cheep ramen my family used to get when I was a kid. I didn't even refer to it as ramen as a kid, I just called it noodles. Nice ramen at restaurants has become a favorite for me, but I haven't experimented much with the nicer packaged ramen because i'm too terrified i'll hate it or mess it up.

We have a Latin American place near us so I ordered some Mexican beef stew and some empanadas. They're so good!

I've made them once and it was a lot of effort although to be honest finding the right ingredients was the hardest part. We lived in an area at the time that didn't have a high latin population so there was not latin food in any grocery stores around us. We only found the right stuff when I visited my parents for a weekend.

Empanadas look pretty time consuming to make. I admire you.

I don't think you can mess up ramen. It's mostly just adding hot water.
I wouldn't put it past some restaurants to just use the same things you find at the supermarket and just spice it up a bit to make it look nice.
Also, experimenting with the broth is pretty fun. You can use instant broth as a base and then add stuff to your tastes too.

Honestly its the broth that scares me the most. My husband is a picky eater so getting the right broth that he'll like it terrifying.
