I'd say it depends on the law's legal age and legal age gaps.. etc.
And then again laws regarding teacher/student relationships?
that said all sorta.... wtfery in a way

I've never heard of any place in the world that would allow teacher/student romantic/sexual relationships

Because come on ;>.>

Oh, it's allowed. Don't forget this is uni so teachers aren't "teachers" they're "professors". The rules are different. She was a mature student and it was his first teaching role so in the end she was actually older than him. They were supposed to declare it so that he couldn't mark her work but they didn't do that until right towards the end.

You're meant to declare conflict of interest when you're a professor/tutor. So that includes friends, ex partners, current partners, you can't mark them at all. It's definitely different for university as opposed to high school as tutors/academics are researchers and all the students aren't really kids anymore as we're legally adults. When conflict of interest comes into play, it's down to ethics.

Yeah, but still, I had no clue universities would allow such relationships between a professor (whatever we call them) and a student (no matter the age). Even if she wasn't older than him, if he goes into a relationship with his own student, he might stop being objective about her as his student. And he's supposed to be objective with all of his students. It's like everywhere, it's logical, students and teachers/professors shouldn't go go XD

Ah when it's uni/tafe student/teacher thing then yeah it's allowed and much like what Jacob and Poshi said.
Unless said student is under a certain age I guess, cause you know the super smart kids who go to uni or tafe early...
I think if it were highschool teacher and a student it's illegal? I think. Tbh you'd have to google that... I read too much manga sometimes...

But seriosuly, it's allowed on uni? I get the "we're adults" and all that. But dang it, it's like "we're adults, so I can fuck my professor, so he'll give me a nice grade but it's really nothing serious between us", and he's like "mmmm, dat ass uB" and he's gone, 'cause he's getting some. And she may suck at what she does in class, but she also sucks his dick so it's fine for him. It's not fair to other students, it shouldn't be allowed.

That there would be a conflict of interest if they dated and he graded her work. (he or she in either or yeah)
Pretty sure they wouldn't be allowed to grade that student they are dating and like Poshi said they'd have to declare the relationship even if it's just friends with benefits.
I hope that makes sense.

Usually academics have slaves I mean demonstrators. Demonstrators ... more than one. So if one declares conflict of interest there are other demonstrators to mark. Example, the design course I did in 2nd year. One of the demonstrators was my ex-bf, he declares conflict of interest and can't mark my group's work or my exam papers, there are 5 other tutors who can take my paper or even the main academic.
You can sleep with your demonstrator/academic but legally they have to declare. Some people don't so when you're caught by the ethics committee, you're fucked. Usually there are several markers anyway. It obvious when there's a 15 mark difference between markers.
