I've never heard of anybody using "emo" as the abbreviation for emoji :P

Really? I actually picked it up online while chatting with others. Guess that's just another one of those somethings people do that no one else does. :}

Yea I guess so. There are a few words that I actually don't like, but people close to me (usually friends xD) use frequently. In the end I picked them up anyhow, even though I didn't like them and still don't.

Our vocabularies are greatly influenced by the people we associate with. I know I have things I say that I actually don't like for no other reason that I am accustomed to hear them. :}

Oh yeah! Before we had the emotes, we used 'xD' in that way. Actually, that one makes it even worse. Pure hateful sarcasm xD

For me 'emo' means something else as well. But that's the generation I grew up in, I guess

Exactly, I was put back in time when I read "emo" :D

emo is like goth and punk and other styles of dressing..lolita.. cosplay

it's a fashion style to me

For me it is a Lifestyle actually.

That was my first association with it as well.
Emo is short for emotional expression and that is all of that and more. :}
