@Poshi: Do you know about Koya-san? It's a giant complex of temples lost in the moutains south of Osaka in Wakayama Prefecture.
I stayed in a temple and it was so far of from the really touristic area that there was no Internet to be found.
It was pretty fun, I'd go there again in a heartbeat.
And I'll go with 3 today too.

2.
No, I don't know Koya san but it sounds wonderful. I ended up googling it. Will definitely have to look into visiting next time I'm in Japan *A* Since it's not a big tourist area is it still English friendly, like English signs? I'm terrified of venturing too far from tourist areas because my partner and I can't communicate in Japanese.

Don't worry, it's still a big tourist area even if it doesn't look like it.
There was nearly as many foreigners as Japanese people here. They even have pamphlets in French which I almost never see.
And I choose 3.

I'll choose 4.
I'd love to go visit another country again, but only if I was going to visit someone there. I'm not interested in places much, usually just people.

You can still go there and make new friends.

Well Japan's tourism is booming :3 Glad to know I won't get lost in the mountains. Where did you stay there? I hear the temple does accommodation.
Why do your teeth hurt?
I'm actually the opposite, I go for the places not the people although people are lovely. It's just hard to talk to them when there's a language barrier. Still fun though. In Japan you can meet a lot of foreigners in the izakaya bars and they just chat to you. My friend went off partying with an American business man she met on a night out at Golden Gai. I didn't go out that night because lol tonsillitis.

I indeed stayed in a temple. Best experience of my life.
The place we stayed at doesn't do it much so we had the whole thing for ourselves.
Foreigners in Japan usually at least say hello if they end up in the same bar, if they're English speakers. If they're not, or not sure you are or not, they just stare awkwardly without saying a word. It can sometimes be quite uncomfortable.
Lately, I'm being chatted up by old people a lot, or even by cashiers, which usually never happens.

Hello again! Sorry, been kind of busy with my semester starting.
Kuuki, that does sound awkward :D
Why do you think old people are chatting you up lately? Is there a reason?
