i think a gaylord is a very large cardboard box. for someone at my height of around 5feet3in, it can go practically up to my collarbone lol. XD;; usually stuff like mail/packages gets sorted into large gaylords and its literally a climb just to get in. xD;;

Yeah it was as a derogatory term for gay people for a while, but it usually had a space between the two words. Basically it was around the time that gay was used as derogatory so it basically meant lord or the gays. The homophobia back when I was in middle school was intense.

TBH I have never heard anyone calling anyone a gay lord before. Just seen it written for people's names. Learned how to pronounce it the right way real fast before I had to say it out loud though. lol

yeah the first time I heard those boxes called that, I had to do a double take because I knew it as a derogatory term first. I blame my Boston upbringing on that.

Wait wait are they pronounced like gay lord then? Cuz the I know the name (or at least he pronunciation I have heard) is gale-erd. Nothing to think that it would actually be spelled as Gaylord.
